| I saw these in a catalog and fell in love. My wife, bless her, searched and found them on backcountry.com at a very good price and bought them for me. I've used them for walking, for mowing the lawn, in water, and just for hanging around. I love them. |

| Not the best river sandal 09-26-05 |

| I just spent 3 weeks on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. These were my primary shoes. Not a wise choice. They are nice for water as far as sandals go and protect the toes well. However, the traction when wet on rocks or other slippery surfaces was not very good. In fact, 2 of the other folks had Keen sandals as well—one of them being the Keen Hood River model for boating. They both had the same traction issue. Also, when used for dry and or wet hikes, I was constantly getting rocks or dirt in between the slots on the sides and thus making me have to take off the sandals to empty them. These sandals also stretched a lot when wet. I normally wear a 9 to 9.5 size. I got a 9, but should have bought an 8.5. I think this shoe will be nice for walking around town but not as a river sandal. One of the folks had a water shoe that did not have the side holes to allow water out easily or allow debris in to the shoe. This worked the best from what I could tell. It was easy to wear, dried just as fast as the Keen sandals, did not let the debris in the shoe, and was great on hikes. The Salomon Tech Amphibian sandal is an example of this design. That’s what I want to try next. |

| They are Great! These sandals are as comfortable as tennis shoes and have a closed in toe box to keep you from getting stubbed toes while out and about. They are very durable. I currently have three pair. I have had my original pair for a little over four years now and they are still in great shape. I bought the other two just to add some color variety to my footwear. They are great for going from dry to wet and back to dry terrain or if you just want a good pair of sandals to wear in Spring, Summer, or Fall.
The sizing the Newport seems to run smaller than they do on the Newport H2. ON the Newport I had to get a 1/2 size larger than I did on the Newport H2.

| These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn. I have a wide foot and my concerns about not having an option of a wide size disappeared as soon as I put them on. I found that the Newport H2 is a little narrower since purchasing a pair of them as well for fishing. |

| for an upcoming vacation trip involving light hiking I needed a pair of comfortable and sturdy sandals. Based on my review of numerous previous buyers experiences I opted for the Newport model. I am sorry to say that I cannot share the opinion that these are the most comfortable things ever. The three pair I tried did not fit properly.Either too short or too big or the straps were too loose or the foot bed was almost flat in the heel area so that the foot slid right off to the side when walking.For my part I don't want to try Keens again,ever. |

| After having a double-knee replacement, I wear one pair of these all winter inside as my slippers and another pair all summer outside (along with my Newport H2's) as my everyday sandals. I have been so pleased with the Newport that I have just ordered the new Newport Trail and I wear the Growler (outstanding!) in winter. |

| I love these sandals, and put them on the minute I come home from work. But I discovered that the fit is less forgiving than with Keen's shoes. I have several Keen shoes that I wear regularly, and am happy with the fit. The Newport sandal, however, does not have a heel adjustment, so you want a closer fit to keep your foot stable fore-and-aft. In my case, a size smaller than I wear in Keen's shoes (13) is appropriate. |

| The Keen Newport Sandal's are the best all-purpose sandals that I have ever owned. I have always been a big fan of Teva sandals, but there are just some places you cannot get away with wearing them, especially in places where you need to have your toes covered. The Keen Newport's are great because they are really a hybrid between a shoe and a sandal. I love that they are waterproof and that they are easily washed in a washing machine. |

| The important stuff...fits true to size, high quality workmanship, good traction in the wet stuff, holds up well to salt and freshwater use, comfortable for light hiking and appears to wear well after 80 hours of use. Sometimes there is a little black residue on the toes, but that's because I can unabashedly kick balls, rocks, stop car doors in the wind, etc. with that great toe protection. My only question mark is the durability of the soft anatomic footbed, I am getting some wear and tear as my feet grind some of the inevitable sand and debris that gets trapped between the ball of my foot and the footbed. For more docile activities around the house I wear good ol' flip-flops but I love the fact that in the great outdoors smashed toes are now a thing of the past. At this point, I give it a hearty two thumbs up! |

| We just got back from a trip through the Hawaiian Islands. Each of us had the Keen's Newport Sandals and they worked great! Perfect for walking on lava rocks and jumping the waves at Wakiki! (Not good to swim in.) I would advise bringing soap to wash and dry before packing to return home. One of the best purchases for our trip. |

When i first put them on i was a little skeptical, but i pulled the draw string tight i knew these were perfect for me. I almost feel barefooted while wearing them, they become part of my feet. Quality seems to be very good, although I have only had them for 7 months so far. I have worn them nearly everyday. |

| What a great product. I wore Extra Tuff boots until I bought my first pair of Keen's. I fished 13 days aboard the Shogun at the Hurricane Bank and Alios Rock. They are so comfortable I never went to wear the Extra Tuff boots again. Best investment I ever made. |

| My cousin had been pestering me for 3 years to buy my first pair of Keens. I finally broke down and paid the price. The fit is amazing and the comfort was instant. I loved them so much that I have even purchased a pair of Keen shoes. The price is worth it.... they last forever.

| And he loves them. He needed a pair of sandals for a scuba training trip and these are perfect. The open design is great around water and they protect his toes as well. The few times he's tried them out at home he's commented on the comfort. I have no doubt he'll want another pair for non-work use. |

| I purchased a pair of the Newports a little over two years ago. I love wearing them whenever I get the chance. I'm a river guide, so I really put them through the tests, the only thing that I did not like about the Newport is the elastic cord (which snapped when I took a nasty swim) which never seemed to get the sandals tight enough. But that's personal pref. |

| These are so comfortable. We bought these to hike up Dunn Falls in Jamaica. We would not have made it without them. The tread on them is great. Little rocks got in them, and we would have to stop to get them out. We wear them all the time now. Very pleased with these. |

| I purchased the Keen Newports based on a friend's rave reviews of his. I can't recall if his are Newport leather or Newport H2, but I'm guessing that their fit and construction are nearly identical. What's immediately apparent are that these are extremely comfortable, and well made. They have excellent all-around support, but are very easy to put on and take off. My feet tend to sweat very easily and these breathe like standard sandals, but with considerably more all-around support like that of a canvass day hiker. Also, you can actually wear off-white socks with these in non-recreational situations and not look like a dork! They look like hikers instead of sandals with socks showing through. I'm guessing that these will hold up under all conditions for a long, long time, and I'll want to wear them all the time in the summer. |

| I purchased a pair of the Keen Newport sandals for an upcoming trip to Costa Rica and can hardly take them off my feet. Very comfortable right out of the box. I received the H2's by mistake 48 hours before departure, they overnighted the correct ones at no charge so I could have them for my trip. Now that is customer service! I will look at this site first for future purchases. |
