Icebreaker BodyFit260 Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's
Icebreaker's New Zealand Merino wool garments are unparalleled in comfort, warmth, and fashion. Soft, strong, and washable, New Zealand Merino has none of wool's typical scratchiness and resists odor buildup better than any synthetic fabric. Once you own one of their base layers, mid layers, or casual sweaters, you'll be begging for more.

Thanks to the Merino sheep!   11-13-08

This stuff is awesome! I wear this year round, and add another layer over top in the winter. Super comfy and the no stink factor on multi-day trips is a huge plus.

Great midlayer   12-29-08
PatrolGoat (40): rating
Be sure to follow the care instructions... These shirts will shrink and piss you off, because they are the best, luckily i bought more than one. Merino wool is great and 260 weight is ideal for mid layer in cold and can function on its own in better weather. Icebreaker is my favorite wool clothing company now. The only complaint would be, I wish they would have included the thumb holes on this shirt.

GREAT SHIRT   12-10-07
Anonymous: rating
I bought my first BodyFit260 about a year ago and it quickly became the most worn shirt in my closet. I have since bought other Icebreaker clothing and have yet to be disappointed. The rave about wool is on the mark; it keeps its shape and doesn't stink even with days of consecutive wear.

Follow the washing instructions   02-20-09
Julien Fisher esq. (10): rating
Great piece of clothing for an underlayer. i have Eczema and this is the only wool that I've found so far that doesn't make my skin light up. Great price for icebreaker but you have to follow the washing instructions perfectly because my medium is now a size for a small child.

These are the best shirts ever   02-16-09
SnowKicksA** (26): rating
I'm totally addicted to Icebreaker, and buy pretty much everything that shows up on SAC. This is oen of my favorites. Fit is perfect and extremely comfortable. Not sure why they didn't put thumb loops on this one - all the other 260 wieght shirts have them. But no biggy. I am 6', 180, athletic build and the large is perfect. Buy it. It will be your favorite too.

My new favorite.   11-21-07
BAlexP (5): rating
This is my new favorite long-sleeve top. Warm, breathable, doesn't hold odor, dries quickly - all as advertised. Yeah, it's expensive, but it is Merino wool. Just think of it as an investment in the most versatile (and incognito) sweater you'll own.

Fresh shirt   07-27-09
Lawson Bunch (5): rating
I have owned this close to a year and have yet needed to wash it, I air it out on occasion but it really has not worked up any kind of bad smell. That is amazing. I am 6'4" and the XL fits perfect, I can wear a t-shirt under it if I want or all by itself. It is a great weight, not too heavy yet not too clingy like some lighter weight wool pieces. Only complaint is that the black color shows seems to show and pick up a decent amount of fuzz/hair. I wore this under my Marmot Zeus on a -15 day and was fine. very nice piece.

magic shirt   03-10-09
Ben Perrin (1): rating
I call these magic shirts. With one on, I am comfortable from below zero up to 50 degrees. I wore my first one every day from November until April, rarely washing it, and it still didn't smell at all, while cutting firewood and sweating all of the time. It lasted five years like that, and I still use it, although it has holes in it now. I just got back from a European trip, where I wore the shirt and the equivalent long johns. After 3 weeks, wearing the same set day and night, I got to take a shower. I didn't have any clean ones to get into, and it was too cold to go without. I took one whiff of them and declared them clean enough to wear. Magic by any definition.

Great Layer   01-14-09
Daniel OConnell (9): rating
Use this top with the 260 bottom's and makes a great layer. Went snowshoeing in 10-20degF weather with a brisk wind and all I was more than warm with these and a wind shell on. It's soft and even after a long day of working was still fresh. Worth the price, fit is true. Remember, you can wash it but don't dry it! It is wool after all...

Great for both casual and technical wear.   11-18-08
SpriteMV (38): rating
This is turning into one of my favorite long-sleeved shirts. I wear it around town all the time, but because it is merino, it is great at regulating temperature and moisture without retaining odors. This shirt is not as form fitting as my Icebreaker Oasis shirts but still has the extra length, which I love. I still ended up sizing up one size - I'm 6'2, 190 lbs and a size XL fits perfectly.

Wool is made new   02-01-08
gazoller (1): rating
At ~6ft and only ~145 lbs., I am cold almost all the time. Skiing the Rockies this season has averaged about 25 degrees F (brrrr). The hi-tech fabrics were not keeping me warm and I had to wear too many layers (about 4-5). Although I am mildly allergic to wool, I tried IceBreaker's BodyFit 260. I am very glad I did. Not only did it keep me warm (just this and my jacket was sufficient) but I didn't stink after a full day of skiing. My allergy wasn't bothered at all and I was amazed that the wool was not scratchy at all. I love this product and highly recommend it!

Warm, soft, comfy   01-25-08
J. Laskar (2): rating
I bought this to replace the fake Underarmor stuff I got from a local ski shop. I wanted something warmer and less stinky. This fit the bill. Kept me fairly warm and smelled just fine after skiing for hours. I thought it would insulate a little better, but overall, I was pretty satisfied.

A great base layer   01-07-08
Jess Cisco (5): rating
As the second piece of Icebreaker clothing I have purchased, the BodyFit260 crew has pleased me as much or more than my first item, BodyFit200, which I really loved for the fit and warmth. I think that Icebreaker really does live up to all of the hype about odor resistance and superior warmth. I often where my Icebreaker gear for days of snowboarding without washing it, and I have never been accused of smelling. Similarly, the warmth of the merino wool is great. My favorite part about the Icebreaker BodyFit260 is the fit and style. If you have an athletic body--i.e., larger shoulders and chest with a smaller waist--the BodyFit260 will fit you well and look great. If you purchase an IceBreaker product and you make sure you get the right size, I think you will really enjoy your purchase. Also, this site is an amazing retailer in that they have great customer service and a wonderful return policy if you are unsatisfied in anyway. Happy shopping!

Perfect   11-19-09
Dag E M (0): rating
Bought my first early this fall, and after wearing it for a few days, I ordered my second. Looks very good for everyday use, looks fine after normal machine wash, regulates body heat well and does not smell. I think the 200 is a little to thin to wear alone during winter, but the 260 is much better. Pair it with a 200 contour t-shirt and a fleece or a primaloft jacket, and you are pretty well covered under your shell jacket.

IB260 vs Paty Cap3   11-05-09
Kretzky (0): rating
This is an awesome mid weight base layer. I've been using Patagonia Capilene 3 as a base layer for the last couple ski seasons. That stuff is great IF you're not worried about how much gear you're packing for a 10 day ski trip and tippin the scales at the airport. A couple of hard days skiing in the Paty and the stink on that shirt is kickin' like an NFL punter. In Paty's defense, the IB piece is definitely more expensive. With the Bodyfit260 being Merino wool I can get away with wearing it for 4 [or more] days, which means I only have to pack 2 of them for a week+ trip. The wool is soft against the skin and super comfy. I'll definitely be picking some more up. I just picked up a wool Patagonia base layer, but haven't had a chance to compare the two yet. On sizing, I'm 6' 175lbs and picked up a medium for a snug/baselayer fit. If you wanted it to be loose and hang off of you a little, get a large.

excellent midweight   10-19-09
Badger (21): rating
I've had this top for about a year now. Its thickness and weight make it a great midweight, but I find it warmer than most midweights. That being said it regulates temperature well - as most wool tops do. I've worn this day after day snowboarding with a light baselayer underneath and a shell/jacket on top. Only on the coldest/windiest days (5 degrees) did I need any other layers. It also looks good for casual wear. I'm 5'11, 175lbs and the medium fits perfect - snug but not skin tight.

Icebreaker BodyFit 260 Crew   04-01-09
Paul Dereska (1): rating
Conforms more closely to the body than Patagonia Wool-2 but is slightly softer and heavier. It is perfect for runs in temps between 30-40 with a sheer Brooks windbreaker. I didn't think anyone could replace Patagonia, but I love this product and definitely recommend it to others for aerobic activity in cold weather.

Nice, but delicate   03-04-09
kemckay1370251 (1): rating
This is very warm and comfortable. As other reviewers said, it doesn't stink after consecutive days of wear. But mine developed a hole in the sleeve after only a month. If you don't have a front loading washing machine, I would wash this on the delicate cycle, making sure nothing else in the machine has zippers or something on which the shirt can snag. Backcountry.com took care of me with their customer service and return policy. Thanks!

in between baselayer and midlayer   02-10-09
linhowe2116606 (4): rating
This top fits somewhere between a skintight baselayer and a tight midlayer shirt. You could wear this around town probably as a shirt, especially if you sized up. If you are looking for a body hugging layer, this is not it. In fact, my only criticism is that the cuffs are fairly loose, looser than a long sleeved t-shirt. This is fine if you think of it as a midlayer I guess, as long as the sleeves aren't too long for you, otherwise you'd have to roll them up. Those with thick wrists or long arms may not have this problem. Anyone know how icebreak intended this shirt to be used?

Perfect !   02-04-09

Went hiking in Death Valley up to 11000ft with it. I was sweating a lot but it kept me dry and warm all the way. Watch out when you do laundry as it may shrink. Great Product !

Great buy, but be wear   01-12-09
Captin Julien (3): rating
I had the same problem as rattler, i didnt read the care intructions well and now im left with a once incrediable long sleeve to one that doesnt fit. Its a great mid layer and i know ice breaker can be pretty costly but its definitely worth it. I would suggest this sweater to anyone.

Excellent piece   12-25-08

This is my favorite base layer. Perfect. The sizes do run small, I normally wear a medium, but I didn't want the tight feel so I went to a large and it fits great.

Fantastic   11-29-08
t.moormeie500991 (5): rating
I have several icebreaker shirts (t-shirts, sweaters, zip necks, etc.), but this was the first long sleeve tee I bought and I couldn't be happier. I like it so much I had to buy another and now they are nearly all I wear around the house and out about doing stuff. So comfortable. Perfect weight for the winter months. Right on for running in cool weather. Sleeve length is great (I wear a 16 35 dress shirt, so I need long arms and the XL is perfect). Highly recommend it if you can afford it.

I already wore this shirt a few times and it felt great right out of the box. Since spring has sprung will have to wait until the fall to enjoy again. Great purchase at a great price.

Got to love the wool   08-26-08
Nick Ferree (5): rating
I've had this shirt for a year and just ordered another one I like it so much. It's really cumfy, the wool is not itchy at all, it's real soft. The shirt is also really warm. Wool is definitely worth the price!

Great mid-mid layer   02-19-09
hun100214946 (8): rating
I got this shit to wear over the BodyFit 200 short sleeve crew which worked perfectly. The 200 crew is much more form fitting while BodyFit 260 as others have noted has a looser fit. This combination worked great. I then layered a Patagonia R2 fleece and my Artercyx shell and life was good!
