I rode these tires for about a month with no problems, until I hit a bump and bent the rear tire, something I've never seen happen before. Until Hutchinson creates a more reliable sidewall, I'd stay away from the Equinox.

Great Training Tire   11-30-08

This tire is great, i havent had a flat or had to replace one for a couple months now. Keep in mind i am a light weight rider at 140 pounds, but if ur around my weight this tires is great for you, i ride about 3 to 4 times a week and the tires still work great. Only flaw i see is they arent the best for hitting corners at high speeds, tend to slip out a tiny bit, but they suit there purpose as a training tire. If you need grip on the corners for a race i hope you are getting race tires, kuz these are for training.

I have used the tires for commuting about 75miles per week. No problems. However the new design is very hard to get on and off of the rim so make sure that you have three pry bars to remove it just in case you get a flat and have the pleasure of changing it on the side of the road.

going through about a tire every other week i stumbled across these guys and love them! there nice and thick/slick, and the price makes it reasonable to buy a couple of them!

Hutchinson Equinox tires = nice ride   09-18-08

I purchased a set of Hutchinson Equinox tires as a replacement for my old Michelin Pro 2's. I've noticed that the max PSI on these is 110, while the Michelins were a bit higher. I generally run at 110 so it's not an issue for me but worth noting for anyone running a higher PSI. I haven't put enough miles on them yet to wear off the nubs or encounter a flat yet, but I'm really happy with them so far.

side walls warped out of shape in less than 1 month   09-18-08

this tire was installed less than 1 month (maybe 400 miles max) before the sidewalls warped. no over inflation, kept it at recommended psi. also got a flat a few day before the sidewalls bent all out of whack. loved them up until i had to replace them last night. :( checking on warranties at the hutchinson website. grrrrr.

But not slick at all, grips very well, and rolls very smooth and fast. They say they're approved for winter conditions and i can't wait to try them on some ice
