Protect your melon with style!   08-31-07

This helmet is a great all around helmet. It fits well, is warm, especially with the ear flaps, and fits goggles well with no gaper gap. The vents work well when not plugged. My head is never warm on super cold days. Simple and effective, just what I need in a helmet. Gives you piece of mind also.

Giro G9 Helmet- Womens   01-30-08
you Beaut! (3): rating
Just skiied Hokkaido, Japan, minus 12 Celcius, and lots of trees. I chose to wear a ski-helmet for the 1st time in 35 years after breaking my bicycle one, and realising the consequences! This hemet was WARM(no beanie), light, comfortable and gave no goggle forehead gap. I initially bought a Medium- which was a little big even for my 57cm diam head. However it fitted my step-daughter, and a repeat purchase on the Small was great. The goggle catch is very secure, and there is an easy adjustment wheel. The pink floral design wasn't too lairy! Top marks!

Bought a chicks helmet, still love it   02-02-09
Anonymous: rating
So I bought the "morroco" color helmet, be warned, it comes in a pink box and is a "ladies" helmet. However, I questions my buds and they all though it was cool so I kept it. Fit is great, vents are great, overall great helmet. Just do not order the rust color one if you have an issue wearing gear made for women. :-)

Very nice helmet   01-15-09
detail oriented (1): rating
My son said this helmet feels, great. He likes the adjustment dial, finding it very convenient, for great fitting. That dial will also allow him to wear the helmet through additional growth (he's 16). He notes the ear flaps are very comfortable. As he did not choose to do "ski team" this year, he does not need the rigid ear flaps. (Alpine Ski team required hard ear flaps.) He feels these flaps seem quite safe, and, again, finds them more comfortable than in has last year's helmet.

Fits well (I wear a beanie underneath). The new Dial a strap they put in as of last year helps with the fit, and when it breaks, you can just rip it out. The new ear flap mechanism is also nice, even though I took them off. The helmet has minimal gap with Anon Solace goggles. Rad! I wear it when i go cycling as well in the summer time as well.

Solid Helmet   02-19-09
Alexander Klivecka (35): rating
This is the first helmet I've owned, but it is definitely comfortable and gets the job done. An adjustable wheel in the back makes it fit snug on your head, there are removable vent covers which help to regulate your heat, and the chin strap is barely noticeable. However, I have a couple issues. First is simply a style point: the helmet is kind of bulbous/bulky and in retrospect I would have rather gone with one that has a sleeker cut to it, like one with a visor in the front. Second, goggles do not rest on the helmet very easily; they almost have to balance between falling back down on your eyes and falling back over the top of the helmet, which is frustrating for putting your goggles up in the tram/lift line.

Great helmet   03-16-08
revstar (1): rating
Just used this on boarding holiday for the first time. Really pleased with the purchase, the helmet is very light so hardly feel you're wearing it. The oter good thing is that the dial on the back of the helmet to tighten the fit means you can wera with or without a hat underneath in cold weather and still get a really snug fit. My only regret is not getting one with ear pads that connect up to an ipod but I may be able to buy these spearately. If you're not fussed about listening to music though I'd highly rate this

Fits so great!   02-11-08
shredbunnies.homestead.com (437): rating
I used to have a RED helmet from year and years ago and I have tried on many many helmets trying to find one that fit my head really well. The G9 was the one! It is comfortable...WARM! you can have the vents closed or open. Which is KEY for me! I wear a small in this and it fits me perfect. I wear small in all skate helmet brands, protec and triple 6. This helmet fits really great with my Von Zipper Sizzles. The chin strap is really comfortable and is not bulky. The ear flaps are warm and comfortable as well. Overall I am stoked on this helmet and have met many people who have this helmet and are stoked on it also. I still feel like a chick with this on.

Giro will not let you down!   01-11-08
SnowislifE (1): rating
I searched the web over looking for the perfect helmet. I have always liked Giro for Mtn. Bike helmets, and that led me to purchasing their ski helmet. I have a large cranium, and the G9's adjustable sizing band allows for a snug fit with or without a skullcap. The ear pieces and chin strap are extremely comfortable also. In addition, the removable vent plugs are easy to remove and put in your pocket. I would always recommend at least looking at helmets at a local store, but then coming back to the web to get the best deals. This site and the Giro G9 were the best combination for me. I would defiantly recommend this helmet to everyone. Go Giro!

Best purchase this year.   03-30-08
2145859 (1): rating
I bought this exact helmet at the first of the season and loved it. Covered my ears perfectly and i never once had a problem with it. I recently had a good crash and this helmet saved my brain from falling out on the snow. I cracked it in three spots in the back like it is designed to do on falls like the one i had. I am for sure going to buy another one exactly like it.

Fits a wide variety of heads   10-01-09
AgentBristow (5): rating
I work at a ski shop. we carry this helmet. It runs true to size and fits a wide variety of heads. It is one of our most popular helmets due to the fact that it fits a lot of people. If you have a round head and have trouble finding helmets that are wide enough above the ears, the Giro Fuse is a good choice, but it is more expensive.

Lifesaver--and super comfortable   09-01-09
Jesse Lind (0): rating
This helmet is awesome! It is super light--so light that it's never ever a chore to wear the helmet. The sliding vents work well when the temps rise. I've wiped out hard with this helmet--slamming my head against hardpack, a tree branch, etc. Fit is super easy to dial in with the adjustable dial system.

Saved my life   05-06-09
the2957498 (0): rating
When I took a spill whilst charging through the trees and railed myself headfirst against one of the suckers, this helmet undoubtedly saved my life. Obviously, now it is done for, with a massive dent and considerable crack, but that would've been my skull if not for the good people at Giro. Thankyou muchly guys, I will be getting a new G9 to replace it without even considering another helmet. (Also fits well with Scott Decree goggles)

The 9 is a 10!   03-10-09
mho2900493 (2): rating
Great Helmet. Lots of micro-adjustments and very comfortable. I have Oakley goggles and no issues with goggle fit. Warmth was fine, but I didn't get into anything very cold yet. Pretty much the only thing you don't get (and don't pay for) is integrated headphones.

Tight on the ears. Try it on for a few hours.   03-10-09
John (2): rating
I strongly suggest you try it on for an extended time before it's too late to return it. I originally purchased the matte black G9 in medium because it fit perfectly in the store. There was room for maybe 2 clicks of the adjuster. After wearing it for a couple hours I had to return it because it made my ears hurt like crazy. The pressure on the ears was too much for me. I got a large sized G9 and it definitely feels looser on my head, and I look goofier with the bigger helmet, but my ears dont hurt. Part of the problem is that I'm right on the border between M and L with a 59cm noggin. Fits perfectly with my Oakley A-Frame goggles. No gap at all.

alright, bad goggle compatiblility   03-08-09
Grogs (5): rating
i got this helmet originally at a ski shop because it was an XL, and i have an XL sized head. I need to special order my lacrosse helmets too. anyways, it is really warm, but unless you are wearing a balaclava, the wind has a nasty habit of slipping in between my anons and the helmet. i combated the problem with rolling a piece of duct tape and putting it between the goggle and the helmet. its lasted for about 2 seasons now. other than that i love it. apparently giro goggles fix this problem so no need for the balaclava or duct tape

Nice!!!   03-02-09
kevman (2): rating
Great balance of features/price. I especially like the ability to open the vent plugs for some air circulation for sunny days. The headband tightener is a great idea, but a bit strange because it pops loose when there's a back impact to the head...perhaps by design, like crumple zones in a car? It's already protected my noggin when I fell on my back...so I'm very pleased with it overall.

Nice fit.   02-18-09
Danielle Mattiussi (5): rating
This helmet does a good job. I previously wore a Giro G9 for about 3 years, and stuck with it. It's warm, and I like the helmet adjustment on the rear of the helmet (my previous version did not have that) that is similar to my cycling helmet. The only down side is that my Roxy goggles don't fit on the brim when not in use for some reason, and they're left to dangle and collect snow.

real Nice helmet for my wife   02-11-09
Tel2506095 (4): rating
She loves it, fits perfect, color morocco is a bit dull, could be a bit stronger red, but still ok. Keeps warm and breathable, I only missing a lever like at the "fuse" for colder days, then it would be perfect !!!

Def recommend!   02-05-09
Badbeat (8): rating
Great helmet. Fits great, and I would say it's a helluva lot warmer than just a wool cap, even though I keep take the vents blocker things completely off all the time. Would be nice to have a switch to open/close the vents instead of ones you have to take out yourself, but you gotta pony up more $ for that.

Even better than the original   12-19-08
wwrivers (2): rating
I'm on my second one of these (last one flew out of the rooftop box on the freeway), and this one is better than the first. The ear flaps fit more securely into the helmet. I love the fact that it keeps me warm when cold out, but I can also remove bits to open vents/expose ears for those spring riding/hiking days.

Silver Helmet is a bit different.   10-22-08
pet2431899 (1): rating
The silver helmet is a women's breast cancer awareness helmet with 3 and 4 leaf clovers on the back. The backcountry people lied to me about the design on the back and now I am in the process of returning the helmet. The helmet could kinda be consider unisex but it just wasn't for me. Very comfortable otherwise and it fit snuggly.
