Awesome gloves!   04-17-07
dct115@yahoo.com (1): rating
Awesome gloves, they are warm enough in cold weather with the liners in, and good for warmer weather with the liner out. Their sizing chart seems to be good to, I just measured the circumference of my hand and ordered based on their sizing chart... gloves fit great!

The gloves are awesome for the price. They keep my hands nice and warm and dry. I also like the removeable liner, so on these warm days you don't need to be sweating in your gloves. Its a great buy for the price!

Amazing   11-06-08
Brian Dubs (8): rating
3 gloves in one, its the best. on the cool days, the liner inside will keep me more than warm enough. On a colder day, the glove without the liner will keep you very warm and dry, and when its getting in the single digits and below, the glove and liner keep your hands warm and sweat free. I have not had a problem with cold hands since the day i got them. they also keep the water out very well and dry quickly if any snow gets in. my only complaint is that they are a tiny bit big. the liner fits perfect, but with the glove, the fingers are a little long. but i can easily live with it

Good all around glove   11-18-08
SpencerM (21): rating
The Dakine Scout Glove is a good warm all around glove. The size runs a little big, but not that big of a problem to me. Finger tips are a little loose at the top, making it hard to get in and out of zip pockets. For the money, this is a really good glove.

Great Gloves   02-08-08
The Drake (1): rating
These gloves are great. The only downside so far isn't really a downside, it's just a personal thing- my old gloves had an articulated thumb, and these do not. These ones are still way better though. Easy on and off, keeps the hands really warm, the liners are great- although I never really need them. Overall, an awesome purchase. This site had the lowest price and the shipping took a lot less time than one of their sales people quoted. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to wear these gloves on the slopes about a week (or less) of ordering them.

these gloves are great, the first time i wore them it was a warmer day so i was putting them on and off and at times i would get snow in my finger tips and they would dry nice and fast, the second time i wore them it was cold and they kept my hands nice and warm.

Toasty!   01-18-08
rogue303 (6): rating
These gloves are warm on their own. I had no idea they came with an inner. I can't wear the two together, as it feels like I'm sticking my hand in a deep fryer. Probably good if you want to use them to pick things out of liquid nitrogen. The inners however are kind of rubber lined for grip, so are great for wearing when I am breaking and entering. My only complaint is that the cuff tightening thing is a bit fiddly...

Awesome gloves   11-19-09
john.hatch1167115 (0): rating
I use these for snowmachining the backcountry of Alaska amd love them. I've used them in temps ranging from 30 down to -25 and my hands have always stayed toasty warm. I like the liner that goes with these as it makes putting the outer glove easier but I lost them sometime last year. I got them on sale and if they should go back on sale, I will be getting another pair.

So far so good   03-23-09
mfs2442831 (1): rating
I cannot attest to an entire season on these as I just got them a month ago. However, I have had a couple of freezing days and a couple of warm days, I haven't gotten wet one bit, my hands have stayed warm on the freezing days and pretty comfortable on the warmer days. For 30-40$ you really can't go wrong with these, they look cool, they keep you warm and dry and they cost about 1/3 of gloves that are comparable. Get em'

I like the liners but it is a little tight with wrist guards, liners, and then the gloves. I do not use the liners anymore. The gloves are very comfy and keep my hands warm. I would buy these again but maybe a size larger to accommodate for the wrist guards.

the liners are super comfortable and overall these gloves are nice and warm down to anything above around 15-20F. When it gets super cold you might want something with a bit more insulation but these are great because when it gets a little warmer your hands wont be too hot that youre sweating and need to take them off

These gloves are great, I've had them for about two seasons and only now have showed signs of wearing out. Even without the liners they are plenty warm enough for a day on the slopes, though they can get a little soggy in wet snow. The liners are great too, even on their own.

No glove, no love.   02-03-09
William Fosbre (2): rating
Ubercomfortable gloves with a fresh style to-go...so far I've warn just the outside layer in weather ranging from the teens to mid-30's and never even thought about my hands. (which in all honesty is all a good glove should do..keep it so you don't have to think about your damn digits)...plus, the inner-liner is perfect for warmer weather and seems to be quite resistant to water as well (a plus). If you want some dern-good gloves that look just as dern-good, these are your winners.

Dakine Scout Gloves   01-31-09
Hoback (4): rating
These are the best gloves you will ever buy. Unless you want to spend 75+, they can't be beat. I've used these gloves without the liner when it's 40+ degrees, and with the liner in negative windchills. The liner is sick, when you're putting your boots on in the parking lot your fingers don't go numb. The goggle wipe is sick too, I used these gloves last week and got dumped on with over a foot of powder while riding. The glove wipe kept my goggles clean without scratching them. BUY THESE GLOVES!

Picked them up off of SAC a few months ago to replace a pair of gloves, and i am glad i did. Warm and durable and waterproof for the price. The only complaint i have was the liners. They are not the warmest things in the world but that was easily fixed by just getting a pair of polartec MEC liners

Great gloves!   12-18-08
Tom, Boston (2): rating
These are the only gloves I've found so far that keep my hands warm. The liner itself is enough on cool days. On very cold days, the liner and the glove together still keep my hands warm enough. The run a bit big so buy one size down.

Feel nice, warm and snug   12-15-08
ksu2646877 (3): rating
These gloves are great! "Fit like a glove" right out of the box ( Could not help the punn there, but it could not be any truer). I immediately tested them using the gloves themselves, without the liner, shoveling snow for 20 minutes in -27C weather with a windchill of -37C. After that, my hands felt a bit cool, but not bad. Everything has limits, but -37C is quite a limit. I must admit, with my other gloves, my hands would start feeling numb at that point. Then, I tested these gloves with the liner in the same weather - much warmer. These gloves are quite stylish with lots of handy features. I've alway had a problem with my hands going numb at temps below -20C being outside for more then 30 min.; but I can tell, my problem has disappeared. I remember a construction worker saying to me " they can put a man on the moon, but they can't make descent set of gloves to keep your hands warm". Congratulations Dakine, you have proved him wrong!

LOVE 'EM!   12-11-08
rch2545260 (2): rating
Temp was 3 degrees with snow guns blowing. I got really wet & cold, but my hands were dry & warm. I love these gloves. I did have to use the inner liners too, but when it's 3 degrees- you should need them. I never trust reviews, but I read some before purchase & everyone who loved these gloves were right. My only negative is that the tops are very wide- so it's hard to get them inside your jacket sleeves. But I did break out a new jacket too- so it may get better. But overall- best gloves I've ever had in 25 years of skiing.

I have these gloves, and they rock. The additional liner gloves are a plus, which I use around town during the cooler times of the year. The gloves themselves are warm and comfy, a little awkward if I were to try to do stuff with them (operate a camera, get my wallet, etc), but overall they are sweet.

Best Gloves for the Money!   11-06-08
Oliver Prucha (4): rating
These gloves are awesome. First of all they look awesome and are most definitely stylish. They are very cozy, and because of the liners, you can wear them in the winter and just take the liners out in the spring. The liners are also great for just chillaxin around in the cold. The price definitely can't be beat especially because of the included liners. Most gloves with liners cost upwards of $60. We all know Dakine makes quality products, and these most certainly don't disappoint. Be sure to pick up a pair of the Dakine Scouts for the coming season!

Great pair of gloves. I really liked the fact that it has an insulation layer. I used these gloves during my vacation to Yellowknife and they kept me really warm. Grip and control are lacking but they do keep the fingers warm. Now that i'm back in a warmer climate i use the insulation gloves as driving gloves, a 2 for 1. :)

peterw2064181 (4): rating
Good breathability, I tested them out snowkiting, where you really sweat. Slightly slippery inside for gripping a bar but still OK and great for skiing/boarding. Sizing chart is good. Mine are a touch loose without the liners and snug but good with the liners. I did snag the tip of a finger on something sharp the second day I used them so maybe not the most bomb proof, but it's real minor and I'm still really happy with them, and they're great for the price.

These gloves were way warm. I never used the liners & gloves together. The liners were great for drinking beer outside, because they were extra grippy. If you're consistently in 25 degree or lower weather, then these are the set up. I'd pick another pair for spring boarding.

Great Gloves   01-29-08
Mike from NYC (1): rating
These gloves were amazing. They stayed warm in all conditions and kept my hands extremely dry. Also really nice touch that the liners are actually quality liners that I could use on their own for walking around town at night. Only problem I can think of is that in extremely cold weather the palm of the glove tended to get very stiff, but it was easy to get it back to normal.

I have a problem with poor circulation in my hands, and as a result my hands are always cold. These gloves are so warm that I had to take the liners out at -7 while cross country skiing in the South Dakota Black Hills. They are also very comfortable and not so bulky that they interfere with use of my hands. They are definitely more than worth the modest price.

These gloves are fantastic! Very warm and the goggle wipers on the one thumb is a plus. Although I think the measurements are a bit off... at least if you're a girl go down a few sizes to actually get them to fit. I had ordered a medium, but exchanged them for a small instead and they're still a bit to big but oh well!

if you got these for boarding/skiing in the colorado rockies like i did, you will be greatly dissappointed, the pinky is so far away from the other fingers it gets cold no matter what, in 9 degrees Fahrenheit with the liners (which have a huge rip in them after first use in between palm and index) they are extremely cold. way too roomy to be warm and too bulky to do anything in them. these things are not warm what so ever. don't waste your money.
