Best gear purchase in a long time!   03-16-06
hanhstermonster (1): rating
I'm currently training for the Boston Marathon and so I’m running a lot more hills. I have to say that I did not think these CW-X were anything more than superhero looking tights and only bought my first pair because I got it on sale. However, I love it! I was able to notice a difference in not just much less muscle fatigue but also it does help me keep my form much more than ordinary running tights. Prior to this (like most runners) I was just wearing your standard black running tights and was not aware of the difference in muscle fatigue until I got my CW-X insulator tights. Bottom line, I highly recommend it. FYI, I think this insulator version is best worn when it is about 50'F or less. I think anything more than 60'F and it is probably going to be too warm for you.

CW-X Tights Rule!   11-18-05
altachic (8): rating
A good friend of mine recommended these to me after I had surgery on my knee. These have to be some of the best insulator tights I have. This was a great investment for me and my knee. I wear them skiing pretty much every day, the construction and design of the knees in this tight are key. My knee feels really stable. Just that extra stability keep me confident out there skiing—I used to wear just a long underwear layer. These are also great for working out in the cold and a perfect layer underneath ski pants. Very much worth the money!!

ingenious fabric   10-05-05

I recently purchased a pair of CW-X insulator expert tights and I must admit I'm impressed. Not only do they provide support to muscles and joints through the use of their patented conditioning web, but the fabric itself is very technical. When reading the words "temperature regulating" I didn't understand fully until I used the product. Not only does this product prevent me from getting cold when I'm running in the morning, it also doesn't make me feel too hot after my body warms up from running. It virtually eliminated the peaks and valleys I used to experience from first stepping out into the cold, then warming up from running, then cooling down as I walked outside to slow my heart rate down. Instead of all that I pretty much felt the same temperature the entire time I had the product on. Truly amazing! It also pulled the sweat right off my skin to the outside of the fabric so when I took them off, my body felt very dry and I didn't have that unbeatable urge to jump in the shower the second I finished my run. CW-X and these insulator expert tights are great. Hopefully they'll make a Pro version of these, as I prefer the support offered by the Pro tight when running.

Lame tights   10-01-08
lyn2439394 (1): rating
I ran in these tights for the first time this morning and I am not sure what they are supposed to be doing that is worth 100 dollars. They didn't stay in the right spots and they kept getting saggy in the crotch and I would have to stop and pull them up. That is what my 25 dollar running tights do. They actually don't feel any different from my old tights that I ws trying to replace. I am 5'7" and 135 lbs and I got the medium. That has to be the right size. I am pretty disappointed in these tights. I am going to have to send them back.

AWESOME running tights   06-24-08
bhte32231066 (2): rating
After a fellow runner recommended these for IT Band pain, I had to try them, and am SO glad I did!! I now run several miles with not a HINT of pain during or after a long run. (previously I would be limping along the rest of the day from muscle soreness) I can hardly believe the difference these have made, and highly recommend them!! They are amazing!!

These are great tights for marathon training. They offer great support to the knees and leg muscles. They are very comfortable and they insulate well.

What a find!!   02-24-07
Merideth (1): rating
Just like the reviews I read before I bought these tights, they were all I had hoped for and more. While my knee still required management in order to ski hard, I credit my ability to even be on the slopes to the assistance provided by the tights. Not only that, I did not have ANY soreness of calves or glutes or quads. Now I know this is not entirely because of the tights, and I had to be in reasonable shape for this to happen, but I have been in better shape when skiing in the past and had much soreness from using unfamiliar muscles. So....was it the tights? I certainly know I will not ski without them again!! Well worth the investment in my opinion!!

Best base layer for skiing.    02-15-07
DodgeQueen (1): rating
I ski and train instructor staff in the Pacific Northwest 3-5 times per week. Our unpredictable weather covers the entire range. The CWX insulator tights are perfect in every way as a base layer for skiing. The description by the manufacturer of the functional properties is accurate. I have tried every clothing option on the market to keep me warm and the insulator tights and top are the best by far. They are all I use now as a base layer and highly recommend them.

Great tights   04-27-08
t.van.es2191743 (1): rating
I got these in Dec 07 and though more expensive than others, they are worth it. Have used them to snowshoe and run in everything from 15 or so F to 55 F, and from dry to light rain. For snowshoeing I used them as a base layer w/top layers depending on temps (on warmer days just a rain pant will do). To run, I've used them in drizzle, cold, and temps up to low 50s. I've always felt appropriately warm and dry which is pretty impressive since I am one to always be cold. They do a great job at providing support to my muscles too. I'm now getting the uninsulated tights so I can have something for warmer days.

tights   01-03-08

work very well for cold weather sports. only negative is that they don't come up high enough in the back or lumbar area. also, wish they had better elastic around the waist so you didn't have to depend on the drawstring as much. thanks!

I've worn these skiing and running and they are great for both! They have helped with my knee problems and I am definitely able to spend more hours on the slopes when I'm wearing these. Definitely worth the $$$!

Awesome   11-12-07

If you love awesome things, then you'll dig these tights. The knee support is unreal. It had me skiing the zipper lines like I was 15 again. I've also used them for Nordic skiing and they're kick ass.

Insulated, but not too warm   07-24-07
SkiKansas (25): rating
I was a little worried these might be too warm -- but I just finished a run in 60 degree weather and they were just fine. And they'll be perfect when it hits 50 or below. Tons of knee, quad & hamstring support -- which is great for running trails. Surprising technology that actually makes my legs feel better than if I was wearing something else.

These are great! I finally decided to buy a pair after reading all the good reviews in the magazines. I'm glad I did. These make an excellent base layer that fits well and helps with my knee pain. Great for skiing. Highly recommended.

Colder than expected   11-13-06
Ellabee (8): rating
I had expected these Insulator tights to be warm enough on their own for running in 20F-30F temps, but they were very cold. Also, I didn't really feel the support where I thought I was supposed to (maybe because I was so cold). I had wanted a pair of standalone tights for these temps, but I had to wear them as a base layer - not what I was looking for. Too bad...they look really cool, but at this price, back they go.

CRX Insulator Expert Tights   01-14-08
skalten (1): rating
The tights are very nice and the sizing chart is accurate. The material is obviously sturdy and of a high quality. I have not noticed any quantifiable benefit in regards to the tights providing increased endurance and their use as a base layer for downhill skiing on colder days is questionable. I would recommend these tights to anyone looking for high quality gear. There are less expensive gear that is just as effective, but the CWX gear is probably a better long-term value. Time will tell.
