| I didn't expect too much of this jacket, other than wearing it for cool morning rides or run. But I find myself reaching for it for just about everything. It fits snug, but I like it that way - don't want too much material when you're being active.
Sizing is bang-on. I always wear XS in backcountry brand and this is no exception.
The only downside to it is I have long monkey arms so the arms are on the short side, especially if I'm on my bike. Same with the hem, I wish it was about an inch longer.
I'd say it's pretty darn waterproof, I've ridden in a downpour and it kept me dry, and definitely wind proof. Love the fleece backing, all cosy inside.
I get compliments every time I wear it. Definitely worth every single penny! |

Wore it for ten days straight, handled everything from rain/snow hiking Fitz Roy to strolling about town in Buenos Aires. Was incredibly warm with just a wool base layer underneath and kept out all but incredibly heavy downpour, plus it stands out and looks good in all my photos from the trip.

Cool jacket, but runs small 09-02-09

Nice, well made jacket. Runs small, would size up. I'm 5'8", 145 lbs, normally wear a size 12/Large. I ordered this in Wisteria color, Large size. Should have ordered and XL. I can't wear it with anything other than a t-shirt without it being too tight. Would have returned for an XL but they were out of the color I wanted. Quality is good, though. I'm just bummed I can't get my color in the XL anymore. Would have rated 5 stars if the sizing were better.

really liked the design and fabric of this pullover but I didn't like how it was kind of difficult to get on. I have big shoulders though and am generally not a fan of pullovers unless they are stretchy. if you don't have big swimmer shoulders you will be just fine in this jacket

I bought this for my wife, and I own the men's version. It is definitely fitted, meaning that if you are planning on wearing anything more than a thin baselayer underneath (or are larger chested) I would consider sizing up. It is indeed quite water-resistant, and does fairly well in wind. It breathes really well, and with its softness (and fitted sizing) it works great as a layering piece. It's thin and light, and packs really small.

this is my second backcountry piece and i am really satisfied with it. the color is unique but not too flashy - the merlot looks great with dark jeans. blocks wind pretty well, even with just a tshirt underneath. i am 5'5" and ordered a small, it was a little tricky to get on with a thermal underneath, but once on, it slides into place and stays there. i wish the armholes gave a little though, as i tend to pull my sleeves up a lot.

Love this. I normally wear a medium but went for the large, which was definitely a good call. I've worn it underneath a heavier duty shell as an extra layer on cold ski days, and on its own running and nordic skiing. I like that the collar isn't super high so it fits nicely under another jacket. Oh, and "highly water resistant" = beads up nicely unless you are literally dumping buckets of water on yourself. Trust me, I accidentally tested it out with coffee.

Not only does this soft-shell come with me on every adventure, BUT it looks good too. Great fit! It's a perfect weight for climbing, hiking, mt. Biking, running, wearing to the store on even on dates! Also, one of my favorite things about the jacket is the collar. It's has some substance to it, which makes it stay up around your neck and keep you warm while looking good too.

I bought this jacket to use on fall/winter runs. It has been incredibly warm (definitely do not need Under Armour coldgear when temp is above 25 degrees Farenheit). It does run small, so I would go up one size. The sleeves were great for me, and I normally have a hard time getting sleeves to be long enough. The only negative would be that the pocket on the sleeve is small, in my opinion, but that's pretty minor.

I love this pullover! I bought the grey, loved it so much went back and tried the merlot. I little concerned about the color when I ordered based on picture, but I have to say the color was a wonderful surprise. A very rich color. The fit, perfect. I ordered the XL as I like tops to be roomy for layering, I"m 5'9" 169lbs. I wear this for just about everything, running errands or to work out and I get compliments along the way!

Absolutely fantabulous! Superb water-repellance (is that a word?!?), great cuffs, and the merlot color is so flattering. Sleeves are a tad long for a 5'3" shrimpie, but not enough to get in my way. Perfect for autumn hiking, errands, looking slick when I head out to watch cool evening sunset! I usually wear a small but preferred medium in this style...hmm.

It's thin, so it's good for high aerobic activities. It's somewhat water resistant- I was dry enough in a drizzle. I'm about 5.3 and 125 pounds, the S is loose on me, but I like it that way so it's not too constricting, especially with an extra long-sleeve layer underneath. I like the maroon color. :)

This jacket has been phenomenal!! It is extremely lightweight, snug(easy to layer) and looks great on. It weighs almost nothing and feels fantastic. High quality construction is evident, but it can be a little tricky to get off. Order up if between sizes (form fitting and is a little short in the torso). Thanks BC!!

I wouldn't call this a jacket. It is made for being active so it's pretty thin. I love using it for runs on cold days and anything I do when there is some drizzling goin on. Keep in mind it is made to be close-fitting so size up if you want it looser. I am 5'10" 145 lbs and the medium fit me beautifully. Great length in the arms and not awkwardly tight anywhere. Plus, the merlot color is very pretty!

This pullover jacket is perfect for the windy wyoming fall days. I wear it trail running, mt biking, and backcountry skiing. It definitely blocks the wind and keeps you warm. It is a snug fit, but it stretches, so its not constricting. I am 6'1" and got an XL and the arms actually fit! If you have really broad shoulders, it may be a bit too snug. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Already sent this one back. It looks great, feels like good quality, but the fit was weird. Too short in the body and arms. And wide in the waist but narrower across the chest. Not sure what went wrong, as other backcountry stuff has been great. You win some, you lose some.

I just got back from a hiking trip in Breckenridge , Colorado. I wore this jacket with a long sleeve technical shirt and was not cold in the least ! Temp ran in the mid thirties to 40's and was outstanding with wind protection of gusts 40 miles an hour on top of Hoosier Pass, and waterproof with the snow storm at Mohawk Lake. I highly recommend this jacket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. I usually wear a small to medium. I picked a medium to layer and it was just right.

Wore it on a 3 day backpacking trip at Mt. Whitney. Light weight but kept me warm. Wind resistant. Pretty color, nice fit. Only complaint is that it's a little hard to get in and out of, would be nice if the zipper went down lower. Otherwise am happy with purchase.

I really love this jacket. It is light enough to use for running in colder weather, but not oppressive with bulk. The sleeve pocket is just the right size for a bit of cash and a credit card. I have used this for trail running mainly, but I see this being part of my cross country ski/ hiking wardrobe as well. It is true to size, but if you have a long torso, I would go a size up (I have a shorter torso, so it fit fine). The lining around the collar is a nice touch, so it doe not chafe when fully zipped. It is a very versatile piece to add to your outdoor gear.

| I was extremely excited to receive this jacket right before my two week trip to Red Rocks, NV. Even after off width cracks, face climbing and a little chimney scraping, this jacket came through without scuffing, snagging or showing ANY signs of wear. That sandstone should have left its mark, but nothing happened to this jacket!
Loved the fit, the breathability and (at the same time) the windblock feature. The zippered sleave pocket was perfect for route notes (easy access) and the collar soft and warm against my neck. This jacket packed down into a weighless wad inside my haul pack and I recommend it 100%.

I don't know if I would call this a jacket. Not really. If you want an overshirt that is water resistant and a wind stopper, the rime pullover is perfect. I use this for working out in the woods and it's pretty versatile on cold autumn mornings when I'm out hiking. I don't overheat and it keeps off the dew and frost. Runs small, order a size up.

Great jacket. I plan to wear for high aerobic mountain activities like cross country skiing and snow shoe runs this winter. It does run about one size small in my opinion. I originally purchased an XS based on the size chart. I usually wear size 2-4. This jacket fit, but felt restrictive with only a light weight zip-T underneath. I kept the extra small for my niece (because it's such a cool jacket!) and ordered a Small. Oddly, my husband ordered his usual Men's Medium and it seemed to fit fine, but then he noticed he had actually received a Large. Mystery solved!

I just love this pullover and I keep reaching for it just about every time now. Either biking or running it definitely keeps me dry and warm. The only thing is, the hem on the sleeves is a little bit tight and it somehow keeps stopping or starting my watch, kind of annoying. Other than that I think its one of my favorites now.

Finally got a chance to break in my pullover this week as temperatures dipped into the 40's at night. Agree with other reviewers - it's an acrobatic act to get this shirt on, but it's nicely fitted, unlike other fleeces I've worn. My only issue with it is it's not cut wide enough in the hips/tummy. Had i gotten a L, not M, it would have been WAY to long in the arms, and too big in the shoulders. Losing a few pounds may fix this. Otherwise, it's fabulous - lightweight, but warm, easily fits over a thin baselayer. Haven't tried it out in the rain yet.

haven't tested it out in the cold weather yet (i'm in alabama so it might be a while) but around my apartment, it's great! a little tight getting on and off but fits well once its on. I'm 5'6'' and you know, not SUPER skinny, but got a medium and it works well with a shirt underneath. can't wait to test it out!

I am size 4/6 and usually wear a small or medium. Got this in a medium, and it was a little tight to get over the head, but once on was okay. However the body is rather boxy and not very flattering and did not feel comfy. Also I got this for running, and it does not feel like it would move with my body nicely to run in. Returned it and bought the Brooks Wanganui jacket instead which was the same price (on sale) and seems a lot better suited for running this winter.
