| I work for the forest service in the Pacific Northwest. This is my go-to jacket for nearly every day of work. I wore this jacket to work in the woods every day for 4 months and it doesn't show any signs of wear. The form fitting is ideal for unrestricted range of motion. I have found that it performs awesome in light rain and windy conditions. It is also light and stuffable so it takes up minimal room in my pack when I do decide to take it off, which is very rare in the spring and fall. I don't go into the woods without it. |

| You don't need to be a Dr. to afford this one. 09-19-09 |

|
| I bought the Rime during the labor day sale for $45, and I couldn't be much happier. The prices outdoor garments are going for now-a-days is way overboard! So this buy seemed like a no-brainer at that price. Here's what I like about it: 1) Looks great 2) The fit is slim and the fleece liner feels great on the skin 3) Performs great in windy conditions 4) Repels light rain well 5) Movement is easy, non resrtricting, due of the elasticity and the perfect sleeve length 6)Breathability is great (from my experience) Here's what I didn't like: 1) Length is a little short for guys like me with long torso's, but everyone has their own preference, right? To each his own. 2) The color options are a lacking, I'm not much for bright colors. I like simple ole' black, blue, grey, red, green.
Anyway the complaints are minimal, and do not effect the performance or overall quality of this jacket. Summary; finally you don't have to make a Doctor's salary to afford great outdoor gear! |

| At $60 its a steal... 09-10-09 |
Howard Worton
(38):
|
| There are already 26 reviews of this pullover, so you probably don't need another. Regardless, I'm reviewing it anyway.
If you have experience of Backcountry.com own brand gear, then there is an excellent chance that you know how good most - if not all - of it is.
The Rime Pullover is on sale at $60 right now, and at that price it is an essential item of equipment. Wether it's a autumnal cycle warmer(Polartec material, made in Canada - great quality), layering up on a cold winter day with 6" of fresh, hiking in spring with a frost still in the air or just keeping you toasty in a drafty bar somewhere: This top is super useful.
The other benefit for me is how light and packable it is - not something it's advertised as being.
Size-wise: I am a 44" chest and a XL fits me well.
This is another winner from backcountry.com. |

| Great Spring Biking Top 05-08-09 |
David Jou
(9):
|
| This is a must have top for spring biking. Going to work, it has been about -5C while coming home the temps are usually 12-18C. I generally cruise at about 25kph. Zipped up in the mornings with just a single Icebreaker 140 T underneath there are almost no problems with the cold or wind. Coming home, I usually have it unzipped by about half way home and it works out perfectly. The only slight problem I have is that for some reason, my wrists get cold in the wind. Not sure if the windproof material is absent there, but that's the only place where I can feel any wind. Love the carrot color: it's a great orange - not too bright, not too subtle. |

| Very nice pullover 04-14-09 |

| When you read "pullover jacket" you may think that this would make an excellent outer-layer over a thick baselayer or midlayer. If this is what you are planning on doing I would size up. This jacket's fit is definitely on the small side. The description does not lie when it uses phrases like "streamlined" and "fitted." Really, this piece works best over a thin baselayer, especially when you are putting off heat (if you plan on wearing more than this underneath it, or are in-between sizes, I'd strongly consider getting the next size larger). It's thin, breathable, and very water-resistant, and also does pretty well in the wind. But if it really gets cold out, it's soft and comfortable enough to be a good layering piece. It is also lightweight and packs very small. Very nice. |

| Got this one in green apple in the bc outlet for 100 as well as a day earlier than anticipated. The color is great, the jacket is even better. I haven't worn it in any extreme conditions, but it stops wind, rain will roll right off of it and keep me warm in 30F or above weather. I got the medium (140 lbs athletic, 5'9") and the sleeves are nice and long, the torso is a little short, but I noticed the back is a little longer than the front which is good crack coverage for sitting or bending over. The medium is the perfect size to layer a fleece underneath for when it gets real cold. The cuff material is great because it won't seem to get as dirty as other softshells' cuffs that are the same as the jacket. One last thing-- the goat logos are awesome! Nice and reflective as well as a conversation starter. |

| I love this pullover. I have predominantly used it casually (medical school puts a cramp in outdoor fun). I'm 5'9'' 165lbs and a medium fits me great. Just enough room for a light long sleeve baselayer. I really like the extended length of the sleeves. I have used this on one hike. It was a short 5 mile, 1,400 ft hike here in the WV Apps. It was about 35 degrees when we left and in the mid 40's when we got back. The pullover did a great job at keeping me warm early on and did a fairly good job at getting the moisture out when we really started climbing.
I picked this thing up a while back while it was still on sale. It was significantly cheaper than it is now. Look for it on SAC. |

| This is a truly amazing piece. It's light as a feather but when you start moving it retains heat and seals out wind. I haven't used it in any wet weather yet but I'm sure it will be superb. Then after you're finished training it dries in 10 minutes, as well as your baselayer underneath.
Everyone should have at least one in their gear array. I'm thinking about a second one because that Summit Sky is sharp. |

|
| I want to start by saying, I Love it! Suprisingly warm, breathable, lightweight & super compressible, HIGHLY water-resistant, good-looking, and comfortable. This pull-over is where it's at! Now to the potentially helpful parts that aren't listed in the TechSpecs... Heeding the advice of other reviewers, I purchased the L and XL, just to make sure I got what I needed. My sizing (6'3", 180lbs., 42.5" chest measurement, 34" natural waist)
L = comfortably form-fiting in shoulder/chest/sleeve-length/torso girth; garment length ends abruptly at the natural waistline (this and thin baselayer = perfect combo for running in ANY weather above freezing!)
XL = still close-fitting due to athletic cuts; a bit of wiggle room, allows for more options in baselayer selection; sleeves are a touch longer (not a major hinderance, possibly even useful for reaching overhead without catching a draft); adds 2" to torso length!
Both could work, depending on your intended use... I went with XL, and have been a happy camper ever since! |

| I bought the Rime Pullover about a month ago on SAC, and I couldn't be happier. I followed the advice of others and ordered a size up (I'm 6'2, 188lbs). Normally I wear a large, but I ordered the XL and it is a perfect fit. The jacket is well made. I wore it while vacationing in San Francisco and it kept me nice and warm in the wind and fog. Can't wait to wear it hiking and camping in the Pacific NW. |

| There's nothing particularly amazing about this piece, but its simplicity is what makes it so great. Sizing is the standard athletic cut of most BC tops. For reference, I'm 5'8" and 135 lbs, and the small fits great with enough room for a baselayer underneath. Fabric is thin but warm, and it's not stiff so you can move pretty freely. It sheds light rain well, blocks a good amount of wind, and breathes excellent. Summit Sky is a pretty bright color but at least it'll help me not get shot by hunters. |

| 5'11" 170 lbs with broad shoulders, Large fits well. Pictures had me expecting slightly stretchier material and a more body-hugging fit, but I have room for a midweight base layer. Would never have paid the original retail price, but $45 on steepandcheap for a Canadian-made piece is a great deal if you're looking for something like this. |

| Just got my Rime Pullover this week-tried it on a 12 mile trail run today; temp was mid 30's 10 to 20 mph wind, occasional snow. The Rime did a nice job of keeping me warm, but dry. Headed into the wind I could really feel the difference from the plain polartec hat I had on; running with the wind I didn't overheat; it was perfect. On a calm day I think it will be too warm for running, but ideal in the wind.
The fit is a bit odd. I'm short (5'6") and stocky (160lb), but usually wear medium. The chest and shoulders are almost snug; it would be too tight with a couple layers underneath. The sleeves and waist are on the long side. Will be nice on a road bike, but not so great for mountaineering |

| I'm 6'0", 175#. Originally got the medium in the Rime (size I wear in the Welder Hoody - excellent jacket), but ended up exchanging it for a Large because I could barely get the medium on and off without dislocating a shoulder in the process. The length is very short, especially in the front (belly shirt in medium? Not a good look). Light weight, thin, and somewhat stretchy. Does well in the wind and light precip, but will soak through eventually. I got the old "curry" color which to me looks almost identical to the "carrot" (maybe not quite as bright?) I'm usually not an orange person, but I am happy with this orange. Got it on BC outlet for a ridiculous price (less than 40 bucks). This is a very nice pullover. |

| I agree with most posts that sizing is small. I'm 6'1, 185 and ordered both a large and XL. I wear the large for casual outings when I don't need any layers under - very comfy fit. I wear the XL when I have layers and doing something active for that little extra range of motion. As far as performance, I love the jacket. I just returned from a week golfing in Scotland and wore the jacket most days. It cut the wind, shed the rain, and the XL provided lots of room for movement. |

| I guide backpacking and sea-kyaking trips in the summer and after a full summer's use, I have to say that I'm completely impressed. Its the perfect combination of wind protection, rain protection, and warmth to meet the needs in just about any situation. Its thin fleece inner linning is just enough to provide warmth on chilly summer nights and the way it blocks the wind and rain makes it an excellent option for any kind of weather other than a complete downpour. It breaths very well, which is much appreciated on cold, wet days of backpacking when a full on rain jacket would be too stuffy. Outside of its functionality, it looks pretty fly and the only damage I've done to it after about four months of hard use is a small tear in the shoulder that was definitly my fault and not the jackets. Fit wise, I'm 5'10", 170 lbs and a large is perfect. I can fit a layer or two (a thin pirmaloft jacket or patagonia R1) under it with no problems. |

| This is a very comfortable and functional jacket. Lightweight, warm, stretchy and a bit small for those of us who are no longer svelte. I just spent a windy afternoon in Mammoth Lakes wearing this and it blocked the wind and felt great. I'll be using it for trail running when the snow flies. Buy this jacket if it is on sale. Right now! I like the blue but it is bright. |

| This is a very surprising garment - surprising because it is so good! It is very rare for me to be so impressed. Versatile. Warm, light, wind resistant and very comfortable. | I would have to agree with everyone's opinion though, it fits a bit small. I wear medium in everything else, and per their sizing chart, I would think to order a medium, but this guy fits like a small. Its almost like a have a fitted shell. It will still work, as it will be a shell for Winter Riding and doesn't need to be baggy. But, Just wanted to let peoples know, buy one bigger. Everything else about it, FREAKIN AWESOME! |

| As a light-weight mid-layer, it doesn't get much better. The fabric sheds water pretty well in case of rain, and you can open the top zip and pocket to dump heat.
Possible cons are:
only one pocket
not a full-length zipper
no pit-zips
None of those things bother me, but they're worth mentioning. Also, as others have said, the sizing seems a bit on the small side. I bought up one size and it fits well. |

| The construction is great. The materials are excellent. I wish it was a little longer in the back, that I could tighten it as well at the bottom and would love another color option. As is, the jacket is excellent. I use it for biking and running in the cold. Breathes well and blocks enough wind while riding to keep me warm while not overheating. I would give it five stars for quality, construction and materials, and four stars for cut and color. |

| I have been using this jacket as my cold weather baselayer. The zipper helps in temperature regulation while I'm at camp, in the sack or on the trail. It is less comfortable when in my bag, but it's versatility if a nice trade-off. As it is rain and wind resistant, this works very well for me in the Sierras. I can wake up in it and be shielded from the mild cold, breezes and morning mists. It's good for chilly fogs or while hiking in the clouds. I think it's pretty damn good for a $75 SAC deal, but I would not buy it at $150. |

| Perfect for cool morning biking or hiking. M mens weighs less than 10 oz and packs very small. Fabric has a nice DWR so water beads up with lighter rain/drizzle. I rode in a downpour for 30 minutes and water penetrated the seams and some fabric areas (shoulder/arms). Big benefit is the balance of windproof (slightly less than gore windpro) and breathable so you can workout in cool weather without getting too sweaty. Medium men's fit is athletic but perfect for use with a lighter baselayer or two (I'm 142lb, 5'11"). Most softshells are quite a bit heavier/bulkier and usually less wind resistant so this is a great piece for traveling light but with great performance! |

It's cut pretty small. I am 5'9" and 178lbs and got a Large and it is form fitting. I was hoping to be able to layer it over a vest or light fleece. But it is too small for that. It's fine over a t-shirt or a base layer, but that's it.
Sleeves are just about the right length for me. Will see how it performs outside. |

| I have this awesome pullover in carbon. I think the color is slightly lighter in color than the images on the website (as everyone has pointed out). The arms are long (even though I am long-armed), and the size S is tough for me to pull on (I am ultra-skinny at 5'10, 140lbs). Once it's on, it fits wonderfully and kept me warm in moderate temperature conditions (45F with 20mph wind) with just two layers on. Everyone else in street clothing shivered and froze. I stood there and enjoyed the wind. |

| I have had the Rime Pullover for almost 4 months. Its perfect for the Front Range winter and spring when layered with a SmartWool top. I spent 4+ hours in snow and rain last Sunday while the outside was soaked, my core was warm and dry.
I agree with the other reviews, the torso is short and the arms are long. Order a size up - the extra sleeve length can double as mittens. |

| Great jacket. I used during the winter for running. It kept me warm with some baselayers underneath, and well protected from wind and elements. Being 6 feet and 180 Large fits me pretty well.

| I love this peice for almost everything. I like to take it backpackng because it is as light as my lightweight fleece peices but it is wind resistat and water resistant. for the large it is only 10oz.
I am 6foot and 170 and the large fits me perfect. not as bulky as a fleece either. |

| This is an excellent running jacket in temperatures between 30 to 45. I only need a thin baselayer to keep me warm. Most other jackets fits me a bit loose but this one is just right. I don't like the same gray color being used for the front chest pocket because it does not match any of the jacket colors except carbon. I would have bought another one if they offered better color selections. |

| I bought this pullover for my winter outside runs, and it is awesome!(I live @ 6500') With the right base layer, I have gone out in 0 degree temps and felt great. The arms seem to be a little long, but I think it helps keep heat in when it's really cold. If you want a windproof, waterproof, and breathable outer layer....look no further! |

| Firstly I'm 5'7, 130lbs and ordered a small. The torso fit perfect, the shoulders are a tad wide, but the arms are way to long. The sleeves actually ended to my finger tips. I have normally lengthed arms, so I'm not sure who this jacket is designed for. Other than the the arms, the jacket material and color are excellent. I am disappointed to have to return it. |

| Just recieved my pull over from steap and cheap. Love the material, nice light weight, form fitting. I oredered the summit sky because, but after recieving it I will have return it because it is more of a teal color. I am 6'1" 180, rather long arms, the large was somewhat difficult to get on but felt great once on. Surprisingly the arms were long enough, which is rare for a large in my case. I think I will return it for the same size different color. |

| This is a great pullover, very wind resistant and warm for its weight. Nice casual pullover for spring/fall I've gotten lots of compliments. Also great technical piece, I use it mostly for winter hiking but it goes in my pack for just about any outing in all 4 seasons. If your going to be active wear a thin long sleeve base layer underneath b/c it doesn't wick very well nts. I am 220 6ft, wear an XL, and there is enough room for a thick icebreaker underneath. I've also had it for about a year and it is still holding up great. |

| I just love this pullover.
Its a good layering piece, so if you're wearing it you don't need to use as heavy of a jacket. It seems to breathe okay, its easy to launder and the chest pocket is convenient for keys, phones and everything else.
It keeps you pretty warm, but not overly. The zipper is sturdy isn't isn't prone to snagging anything else. The logo just makes you look cool, because you've got the goat near your heart (and it's a great conversation starter) and the smaller logo on the left sleeve is unnoticeable unless you're looking for it. They're also useful if you're in the dark because the logos reflect light well, but be cautious if you're using a camera with flash you're bound to get a bright picture of the logo if you're photographed wearing this.
Overall a great piece of gear, one suggestion would be putting in a elastic drawstring at the bottom to better fit us svelte people with very long arms. |

| Love this pullover - not really a jacket (you can wear it indoors if you are chilly too). I liked it so much that I bought 2 more of 'em. As others have said, sizes run a little tight so consider that when ordering. |

| I'm surprised how warm this jacket is. It's great! It's extremely thin and light and great at blocking wind. According to Polartec, the Polartec Power Shield material blocks 98% of wind! Very water resistant as well. When running it under the sink practically all of the water beads off. |

| Just got one of these off of steep and cheap. I'm about 5'10.5" (:-p) and this seems pretty short. It's not ridiculous, but short about like the Prime Agnello, and since I plan to layer them together, it's probably not a bad thing. The back seems a tad longer than the front, which I like. At 145 lbs, the fit is otherwise pretty good. Arms are a good length and have room for long underwear and a light (athletically cut) fleece underneath, although sometimes theres a little bunch under the armpits. Thanks to Geartrade.com & Steapandcheap.com, I have a pretty solid set of layers for the fall for less than $100! This will be a great replacement for my 10 year old Moutain Hardwear Windstopper jacket at half the weight! (Although not quite as warm/windproof, there are always trade-offs). |
