Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Pant - Men's
You dawn patrol before work, hit the trail in the afternoon, and find solitude in the wilderness. We know. We're out there, too. So when it came to developing our own line of outdoor apparel and equipment, we didn't think like a company, we thought like the obsessive outdoor addicts that we are. We tapped into our collective experience, expertise, and passion. We tested, tested, and tested some more. The result? A line of premium gear that is as good or better than anything else out there, and we priced it low because it seemed like the right thing to do. Hit it hard, love it, break it. If you don't, we will.

Good Product   02-10-09
TooMuchSAC (7): rating
These pants/underwear are a good value. They are half the price of the Arc'Teryx Rho, (even better on SAC) but are made of the same material. While the Rho has a slighty better fit, I don't think it's worth paying twice the price for. Besides they are warm, no one sees them (well, usually) and you are just going to impact farts into it, so why pay double?

Prime indeed   12-29-08

These make a sick base for winter revelry. I'm warm enough with just these and a breathable hiking pant. The fabric is smooth on the outside and fleecy on the in, and is about the thickness of a thin pair of sweat pants. They are very stretchy (even though it says a 32" inseam, they flex easily to accommodate my 6' 4" frame). Even on steep ascents on snowshoes they wick the sweat away like...a vacuum...I'll work on the similes. You work on getting a pair of these babies.

Excellent Product   01-09-09

Really great as a base layer under a waterproof shell in the winter or on their own as lounge pants on a cold day. Not too thick, don't get full of static cling, and fit perfectly (even for a tall person like me!).

Got these on sac and I really like them. I am 6foot 170 and I got the larg because I don't like them really tight. it seems like they add 8-10 degrees to my sleeping bag. I weighed them in at 7oz.

These pants rock   03-12-09
Jon Turner (15): rating
Thicker material than you might expect, nice tight fit - makes for a good baselayer for coldness or wear around the house for comfort when its chilly. I like em - bought two pairs.

These are warmer and heavier that I had thought they would be. Very Soft. I wear a 36X32 in jeans but the L fits me great.

Great Layering System!   11-13-08
Steve Tibbitts (262): rating
I've loved these pants. I use them as layering mainly but they also get worn as my PJ's. They move well, the fit is right on and they've lasted me quite a long time....especially for how much I've worn them. I use them hiking/climbing in the cold as well as mountaineering, but also for trail running on exceptionally cold days. They breathe very well and you'll never feel like you have some heavy long johns under your clothing. All in all it's another great product from Backcountry.com!

great value   07-26-09
Lawson Bunch (5): rating
Comfortable and warm, breathe and stretch like a yoga master. I wear a 36x34 and the XL fit great. They are made from great material. some kind of fly like on boxers would be nice for when nature calls late at night but it is not a big deal.

Great baselayer... very warm   04-18-09
RockyMtnHigh (63): rating
These keep my lower half toasty warm under a shell/ski pants. They fit true-to-size, and are supposed to be a little on the snug side (which is one reason they are so warm). They breathe really well. I suppose that they could probably be worn without a shell (for running, or trying to sleep in a 30 degree sleeping bag when it's 10 degrees out). The only way to improve them would be to give them a pocket, but not having one is not that big of a deal. If your lower half tends to get cold when skiing/boarding (or at other times) I would seriously consider these pants.

Warm cool weather running pants   03-26-09
hig2946325 (1): rating
Supremely comfortable and great for keeping the warmth in and the cold out. Cool running in MN is around 30°–40°, which is when I wear them. After a while you warm up pretty nice. Love them and can't wait to use them even more.

I really like the fit, feel, and warmth of these pants. I almost wish it would stay cold a little longer so I could get more wear in before the warm weather hits.

grt pants -- warm, comfy   03-11-09
bwaite2392846 (2): rating
These are grt... Very comfy... I was a little worried about them being too heavy (warm), but they breath extremely well. Planning to buy a pair for my girlfriend. I'm 6', 195lbs, and tend to like clothing that is not snug. The large fits perfectly - I could (but hopefully won't) gain 25lbs without having to up-size.

Works well   02-17-09
fred-hiker-sf-area (6): rating
Aside from not having a fly/opening in them, these pants are a great base layer underneath shell pants! I wore them for 3 days during a Ski/Snow trip and they kept me warm but not overly hot while inside, outside, wherever. Super comfy and well worth the price.

Very comfortable   02-01-09
Deal-searcher (14): rating
These are surprisingly comfortable for pants that stick so close to you. They make a great underneath layer in cold weather. I wore it at home for a week straight and never felt itching. I felt that they were not too insulating, either--just right. I'm 5'11" slim build, and a medium fits me just fine.

Really surprised at the quality for the price. Have used it as a base layer and on its own and it works both ways. WHO needs a logo?
