Big Agnes Iron Mountain Air Sleeping Pad
Big Agnes bags are made without insulation on the bottom because insulation loses its warmth when compressed by your body. Instead, they feature a sleeve in the bag floor into which you slide a Big Agnes sleeping pad. The result is more warmth, less weight, improved compressibility and a sleeping pad that stays put no matter how much you move during the night. Ingenious.

Love Big Agnes, just not this pad   12-02-07

I returned mine. I bought an insulated air core and this one since the aircore was in limited stock. I liked the brass valve on this pad, and its durable feel, but the tubes were larger, and spaced more on this pad than the insulated air core. For me, laying on it felt a lot more uneven and I couldn't get comfortable. The insulated aircore on the other hand, is exceptional. A larger number of smaller, and closer tubes felt a lot more even and more comfortable.

great for side sleepers   10-28-08
ashleybOSU (1): rating
This pad is great for backpacking. It is so light and packs down to the size of a Nalgene bottle. It is great for side sleepers because it is so thick. Even though it doesn't self-inflate, it's worth it. Packs away quick and easy. The only drawback is that it is a little slippery, but I find the tubes hold me in place so I don't slip off the side.

Great Pad   10-24-08
Angus Bohanon (47): rating
Blows up huge (15 breaths) and packs down small. It rolls easily, fits in the stuffsack easily, and it's really cushy and nice to sleep on. One problem I could see is rolling off of it, but I move a fair bit in my sleep and I've never done it. It's great to sleep on the back or on the side. I can't think of anything wrong with it at all.

Great for backpacking - 4 Stars   10-22-08

would recommend this pad to anyone backpacking. It's one of the lightest pads out there, and the thickness lets you sleep on any rocky surface. I had to set up camp on the worst terain ever last night; sticks and rocks were all over the tent floor. Once I blew this up and layed down I couldn't feel a thing. I know my night would not have been as comfortable with a regular foam or self-inflating pad. My only complaints are the slickness of the material and the amount of time it takes to inflate the pad. If you move around a lot when you sleep you will fall off. Aditionally it takes about 30 full breaths to fill it up; after a day of backpacking this is a little difficult to do. If you're going backpacking you need this pad. If you're going car camping get an air matress.

Now have 2   10-17-08

Rolls down to nothin' in no time. Break camp and on the trail in a matter of minutes. Not that it's all about the mattress, but it's nice when you've got a early storm rollin' in and you're not trying to squeeze the last bit of air out. It's an unplug, roll and stow. Definitely not the weak link in the get-the-heck-out-quick scenario.

reasonable blend of size/weight/comfort   06-24-08
kokomas630140 (2): rating
I bought one of these for a camping trip with my girlfriend. I didn't realize it had to be blown up, but now that doesn't really bother me because it is very packable and pretty light. It takes about 15 big breaths to inflate and this takes me about 2 minutes. It packs to be a bit smaller than the size of a large poland springs water bottle. It is comfortable because there is at least and inch or two of air between you and the ground when you sleep. Would double as a sweet raft if you are summer camping at a lake.

Sleeping Pad   06-19-08

This pad has plenty of cushion but it to narrow and slippery. Constantly sliding out from under the sleeping bag.
