Arc'teryx Trident Softshell Jacket - Men's
Arc’teryx takes their own approach to technical outerwear and climbing gear. Instead of imitating existing designs, Arc’teryx innovates with their own solutions. Narrow seam taping, laminated pockets, welding instead of sewing, and revolutionary WaterTight zippers are hallmarks of this Canadian company. Their distinctive designs won’t be found on the backs of every rock-jock or snow-bro, only on those adventurers that know true quality when they see it.

Pros: Great water-resistence, totally stops the wind, great stretch ability, very stylish, good sleeve length for long-armed folk. Cons: A bit large around torso unless you're layering (which is good for cold weather) some bunching of material occurs under armpits, but maybe I'm just too skinny for the medium. Overall: Good for moderately cold weather, but in real cold stuff you'll want more insulation. A top notch soft shell!

Just got mine in Pine; There's a white pin-stripe along the seam, up the arms to the back; it's on the back side so it's not seen in the picture (although one of the detail shots shows it.) The lining is a sort of short, felt-like material; same as my Sigma SV. It's warm, but makes it tough to slide on over some shirts. It has a drawcord at the waist. The arms seem a bit long, but I rather like that to keep covered when reaching. Myself, I didn't find it large around torso, but I'm getting a bit tubby in my old age (bought a large; I'm 6'0" 200lbs.) As with a lot of Arc'teryx stuff, I'm not sure it's worth paying full list price for, but at discount it's a good buy.

I'm a big fan of this softshell. Great spring/fall all around jacket. Great for moderately cold weather, definately need to pick up a more heavy duty shell with thicker lining for winters. I bought the pine and the pictures don't do it justice. It's darker than the pictures I saw of it, they must be of an earlier model. Better looking jacket than I initially thought it would be. I'm 6', 180lbs and bought the large. Fits great, I don't notice any bunching and it allows for full movement without any discomfort or anything being exposed. Excellent cut, looks great, I've recieved numerous compliments.

DECENT JACKET   10-25-08

While I didn't keep this item, I can see where others will find it entirely adequete. I'm 5'10" 190 lbs, not too big, not too small. perfect size for street hockey :) This jacket had sleeves that were a bit long and a fit through the body that did quite work with my build. It seemed tighter in upper and looser in the lower . Warm enough for it's weight, though I didn't wear it out. The fit just didn't sit right on me. If you've any width to your shoulders, get something else.
