Arc’teryx takes their own approach to technical outerwear and climbing gear. Instead of imitating existing designs, Arc’teryx innovates with their own solutions. Narrow seam taping, laminated pockets, welding instead of sewing, and revolutionary WaterTight zippers are hallmarks of this Canadian company. Their distinctive designs won’t be found on the backs of every rock-jock or snow-bro, only on those adventurers that know true quality when they see it.

great jacket but wish it were a little warmer   08-18-08

very lightweight jacket. water repellency works well. if you're in a colder climate, you would definitely need another layer underneath, but it's comfortable for me in the mid to high 60's. it's advertised as moderately warm on the arcteryx website, but i suppose that depends on your definition of moderate. i'm 5'5" 110 lbs. and the xs fits well. nice looking jacket.

great rain jacket!   11-18-08
doppelstern (22): rating
I'm 5'1" with a 17" torso and a small bust, and got the XS a few months ago. This hooded jacket works wonders in sudden showers - way better than an umbrella, especially in the windy Northeast! It's so thin and lightweight that it feels like you're not wearing any outerwear at all; I've never stayed so dry with such little fuss. The curves in the cut of this jacket are very cute and flattering on a petite frame (the hubby approves whole-heartedly). The torso and sleeves are quite roomy enough for layering in spring and fall (i.e. not fitted, but for good reason). Through the fall I've been wearing the North Face Stratus underneath the Epsilon SV, and they've kept me dry and toasty without the bulk.

Super Comfortable   09-26-08

I Love this jacket, the sleeves are a little short and it could be a bit warmer, but other than that I love it and couldn't be happier!

not for big chested ladys   09-23-08
knikliq699278 (5): rating
Love the coat for rain if you do not care what you look like. A big chested lady just does not look good because the pockets are in the wrong spot.

Light, mostly waterproof, flattering   08-15-08

This is a great jacket. I wore it in a light rainstorm in the sisters mountains, and the rain beaded right up and rolled off the finish. In places where I touched the jacket, smoothing it over my fanny pack to keep the fanny pack dry, this was the only place where the rain penetrated the fabric somewhat but it still didn't totally wet through. The places where I didn't touch the fabric it totally kept out the rain. Usually I wear a large, I ordered an XL. It fits well and the arms are a good length for me. I am 5'11". The cut is a little boxy, but the seams on the front make the jacket very flattering. The color is brighter than depicted onscreen (I got flame). It is bright orange but I love it anyway and I'll be wearing this jacket often.

love it!   08-14-08

Though I haven't been able to test this jacket in cold weather or hard rain, I have been very happy with its performance in light rain and a warm climate. The inside of the jacket is fairly soft, so unlike most water resistant jackets, it feels comfortable against bare skin. (I hate wearing a typical shell over a tank top in the summer...that sticky feeling on your arms is no fun). I have been out in it twice in light rain and the water has beaded up and I haven't gotten wet. I'm hoping that holds true in harder rain or snow. I'm 5'4" and about 112 lbs. and the small fits well. I probably could have gone with the xs (I have other Arc'teryx jackets in xs) but I wanted to be able to put layers underneath for skiing. Oh...the flame color is bright (think safety orange).

Would have been great, if it fit   07-18-08
canadianmountee (1): rating
This jacket would have been perfect except for two things 1. the fit- I'm 5'3" and measurements of 35"/28"/38" (bust/waist/hips respectively); I got the small, which is what the sizing chart says for me- the cut was much more boxy than anticipated- tight in hips and chest and big around the waist. 2. The material- I thought the jacket would be much more warm; the lining wasn't warm enough for me. Returned and got a mountain hardware torch and LOVE it!

a good buy   06-30-08

This past weekend was my first chance to test out this jacket, and I was quite happy with it. I'm tall (5'11) with longer arms, and since Arc'teryx tends to run short and smaller, I ordered up a size to a large, which worked well. The fit is maybe a little boxy, but you can tighten the draw cords at the hem of the jacket to keep out the wind. The hood is a nice feature and this is definitely a light, but warm jacket. I'm happy!

Fit Issues   07-09-07
TheMeal (2): rating
After getting this jacket for my wife, we had to return it. The fit was bad for her. Otherwise the jacket was amazing. She is approximately 6'1" with slightly longer than average torso and even more so arms. The torso of the jacket was acceptably long, but the arms were definitely too short. There was ample room to layer underneath the jacket. We exchanged for a Patagonia Stash which I will have her review if it fits.
