I got these goggles because they were on sale and now I know - it's because they are last year's model (on the case it clearly says Outside Winner 2006).
The goggles were a good size and fit my small head well. However, due to some issues I ended up returning these specific goggles and getting the newer 2008 model.
- this one has sticky backing on the strap which is useful for helmets, new model does not have this
- this one has a weird Zeal rubber label that is attached with 2 extra buckles to the strap. The label can be removed but not the two extra buckles. This seems like excessive branding to me. With the label attached it's difficult to adjust the goggles to the right size for a small head. None of the branding is on the newer model.
- the lens I received was defective from left to right (uneven) but also the gradiations from top to bottom were very noticeable and not as smooth as the new model.
I didn't think it was worth the savings in price and ended up returning these.
However, Backcountry was super helpful and understanding and I didn't have any problems with either my purchase or return (they get 5 stars for that!).
Great goggles....clear and comfortable. Excellent for bright and sunny days as well as low light/low vis. No fogging at all!! Can't beat this level of quality at such a bargain price.
