Bottom Line: Your favorite hiking buddy on long, ambitious days.
I bought these shoes in a need to replace my 8 year old hiking shoes for a 30 day backpacking trip in california. Having pretty wide toes, I tried on an incredible number of shoes to find ones that fit right. I settled on these, my sister and stepmom have them as well and were pleased. After a week, I ditched my sock liners thinking my toes were just too tight for the shoe. Two weeks in, long days of downhill gave me brusied feet and toes that were melded together with blisters. I discovered at that day that the ridge along the toes where there was seam caused an irregular bump inside the shoe. This bump is what caused all of my toe blisters. My toes were so incrediby sore day after day because of this little bump. Finished the hike in them but wore my crocs down Mt. Whitney and ditched these shoes in the trash at the finish. Great waterproofing that doesnt keep your feet hot like most warn with gortex. Disappointed in such a poor quality overlook when this is such a celebrated brand.
I just recieved my new Vasque VST GTX. I worn them for three days now. They do not fit the same as my old Vasque Low GTX( which are great shoes).I bought the same size as my old ones but they seem much larger. My heel slips up when I walk so I tightened the laces then they pinch my feet. I will be sending my new pair back. I'm sorry they redesigned this shoe. I would not recommend this shoe.
