| I have owned several pairs of the original Velocity, and would wear them through countless airports, 1 night lightweight backpacking, mountainbiking, limbo dancing, running from concert security, why even trail running several hundred miles. They are awesome. I do find the new VST to fit a bit snugger, and in a quiet room they squeek like a dry hinge on a toilet seat when I walk. What's with that? Is Vasque using Flubber for cushioning? If so, then bring it on since they absorb impact from hardpan better than any trail shoe I've owned. Otherwise, they are my favorite trail runner, with every bit of quality I'm accustomed to from Vasque.
Question: when will the squeaking stop? Should I install a grease fitting or just turn up the Ipod? |

| I'm not a trail runner, I like trail running shoes because they are comfortable and tough. I usually wear the regular Velocity, but they didn't have any so I tried the VST. The first pair I had only lasted about a month before the sole started seperating at the heal. Sent them back no problem, got a replacement pair. Some of the decorative stuff on the side is coming off already after not even a month, and no trail running. I do wear them every day as my everyday shoe, but they should hold up better than they do. They are comfortable and seem to have a wider toe box than some. I won't buy another pair of the VST's, I'll go back to the regular Velocity if I can, they held up great!! |

| Soles need serious work 10-15-09 |

| As another reviewer said, this shoe has serious issues on the sole. After only 2 runs, 3-4 nubs had ripped off, and after 50-75 miles, the soft part in the center of the heel had ripped open on one shoe. So it squeaks every step, and water seeps in. The rest of the shoe seems fine--upper breathes well and the overall fit and feel of the shoe is good, but I've stopped running in them. |
