The Kota's Gore-Tex XCR liner is waterproof and more breathable than traditional Gore-Tex, making this shoe great for the damp conditions of the Pacific Northwest or Southern swamps.

These are great shoes. I have only bought Montrail hiking shoes for the past 5 years, but was forced to look elsewhere when they stopped making the model I wore. I tried various shoes made by Keen and Merrell but found these shoes to be the best -- sturdy but comfortable and wearable for hours right out of the box.

These shoes are wonderful! I love them! They are just as described! The gortex is amazing. The comfort is outstanding. The only thing I would recommend, is getting socks that are suitable for gortex, regular socks make your feet sweat in these shoes, but wicking socks make them even better! The price on Back country is alot better than zappos or any other place!

11 1/2 hours on the trot & no blisters!!!   03-11-08

These shoes are great. I tried to wear them in a weekend before an adventure race, where I then ended up being in them for 11 1/2 hours on the trot - no blisters, & soooo comfortable. I ordered a size slightly bigger than normal which was great, as wearing with thick hiking/adventure socks made them perfect.
