The North Face Men's Convertible Vedder Jacket practically bends over backward to make your fast and light day in the mountains as comfortable as possible. This lightweight softshell prepares you for moderately wet and windy weather with its breathable, wind-resistant Apex Aerobic fabric and DWR coating. Mesh side panels and a mesh lined collar move moisture away from your skin and transfer it to the shell fabric for evaporation. When the Vedder's sleeves start to feel like overkill, zip them off and stow them in the jacket's lower back pocket. Concealed thumb-hole cuffs jive with your bike gloves, and reflective logos up your safety factor during nighttime runs.

Bottom Line: So accommodating, we like to call it The Mountain Butler.

Over all this soft shell is okay. Great for layering. I would categorize it as a very light wind breaker. If you're counting ounces this isn't to bad. Its a LOT thinner than I thought.(no real liner oh,...and that grey collar that pretty much the only linner you are going to get.) I like the zip off sleeves.
