Description of The North Face Deception Insulated Jacket - Men's:
The North Face Deception Jacket feels so light and soft that you might hesitate to grab it when the forecast is calling for a deep freeze, but Gore Windstopper combined with Primaloft One insulation make this ski jacket deceptively warm even on cold-smoke January mornings. Add in a powder skirt, pass clip, RECCO reflector, internal goggle and media pockets, and the Deception becomes a no-brainer for anyone ripping up the Continental Range in mid-winter. Or let it be your pre-dawn skin track companion, and pack a super-light hardshell for changing conditions.
Check this jacket out. I bought this jacket to replace a beat up Redpoint Optimus and it has been a great replacement. Same great hood and insulation package, but with the additional benefits of Windstopper, longer length, and snow skirt. Great value.
This jacket is one of the warmest things to ski in ever. The Primaloft mixed with the Windstopper make for a super warm, super mobile piece that you can ride in with just a baselayer under. Its awesome. It does, however, not have Pant-a-locks like I expected.. north face should fix that up. Oh, and the screen printing is awesome on the inside. If you want a warm jacket for the Rockies, this is it!
I've used this jacket for a month now and it's been exactly what I was looking for -lightly insulated jacket that I could use on semi-cold days when a full down jacket would be overkill. The only change I would make to the design of this jacket would be to change the cuffs from elastic cuffs to open cuffs with a velcro enclosure so that they can fit over my ski gloves. Other than that, it was a nice pick up.
