Description of The North Face Shugga One-Piece Snow Suit - Women's:
No fluffy, heavenly, floaty white powder gets through The North Face Women’s Shugga One-Piece Snow Suit. You might think a one-piece sounds rather 70s, but this suit has a wide, urban-style belt and a sleek fit. HyVent fabric and fully taped seams handle wet weather while Underarm zips, thigh vents, and gaiter vents create a full-body Chimney Venting system when you’re booting up for freshies in the resort. Synthetic insulation in the knees and lighter insulation in the body and seat of The North Face Shugga add warmth.
Bottom Line: Full-body warmth when you want it, tons of vents when you don’t.
I SO wanted this to work for me - the quality and workmanship on this snow suit are perfection and I absolutely love the stylish look. However, I tried a medium based on my measurements (I'm barely a medium in TNF measurements) and I was literally swimming in the suit. I should have known because all my TNF jackets are smalls despite the measurements chart showing me as a barely-medium. I had ordered the black and the reviewers before me are right - it is more of a charcoal, which is actually more flattering. A couple weeks later I saw a small was back in stock so I ordered it - everything was perfect except for the pant length; too short! I'm almost 5'7" and these were about an inch off the floor in bare feet. To me that is too short. This time the color I got was the blue - and it definitely is bright! But in a fashionable way, not too kid-like.

Best investment I made this year, next to my seasons pass 02-21-09
This suit is CHEAP for the incredible quality, the thoughtful design, and how well it has performed. With adding few more or less layers of icebreaker underneath, this suit has performed awesome and kept me at perfect temp from skiing in warm 2C and no wind, to crazy -22C with harsh winds (when my uber skier boyfriend was whining about being cold and I was still doing great). I always came home the driest on powder days, even though I took my share of tumbles (thank you one-piece). The whole design is genius, and quite flattering. I have received many compliments on how it looks.
I'm 5'6" and about 138 lbs. The size small fits me perfect and is comfortable, though I could have gone to a medium if I wanted a really baggy park look.
On one day of rain skiing, water did seem to soak into the top fabric layer, but I still felt drier than everyone else as the thin insulating layer kept moisture away from the inside.
If I had to do it over, I would consider paying double for this garment, and I'm a cheap ski bum. I've worn it almost 40 days skiing so far this winter, in all conditions. Wouldn't leave home without it.
I just received my new suit. It's awesome. Waaaaaaaaaaay cooler than the Burton one piece I bought last year (which was wearing out on the knees and butt)
I am 5'8" and about 165 and the large was a good fit. Just the right amount of room for layering underneath. I ordered black and was happily surprised to see that it's actually more of a graphite grey colour. Definitely NOT black. Very cool!
