Very nice jacket worth the money   02-25-08

I love this jacket. I wear it constantly as a mid-layer. The fit is pretty true - I am 6', 180 and got a large (which is what I normally get) and it fits just like a normal jacket that i can wear a long sleeved shirt under. Its surprisingly warm for how light and thin it is, although below 45 or so I definitely need another jacket over it.

The TNF Volt jacket is very reasonably-priced, and skips on a lot of expensive extras like seam-taping, wrist closures etc. However, it looks great, is super light, and wonderfully breathable. I'm not sure it would work very well in heavy rain, or long periods of melting snow, and the fabric is not 100% windproof. But the surface is tough and sheds snow very well. All in all, this is great spring skiing jacket, and is permeable enough to work as a layering piece too. I also plan to wear it for climbing in the spring. I'm 5'11", 160 lbs, and the M is a great fit, with enough space to wear a fleece underneath.

First of all, I am 1.85 m tall 85 kg weight. I got The Black one on L size. Size: It fits perfect. Just about my belt. Arms great too. Material: I never have a softshell before, and it surprised me because it stretchable, windproof, and water repelent. Also very lightweight. Pockets: it has two very roomy hand pockets and one shoulder pocket great for keys or my ipod shufle. Others: Nice value details: chin protector for the zip, the logo TNF reflects light, waistdrawcord, halfway elastic cuffs. I doesn`t have inside fleece linning or anything else, so it`very thin there you have the lightweight. Price: 55 $ it`s a perfect deal, here in argentina where i live the cheapest softshell is 100 $ and not northface, just local brands so a great deal. My opinion: it`s perfect for aerobic activities, i use it for running and biking, or just to keep me warm on spring and auttumm days. I also use it as a inner shell under my Columbia-Ballistic-Insulated-Jacket (also bought here) on really cold days. Great jacket i recommend it
