Description of The North Face Varius Guide Jacket - Women's:
The North Face Women's Varius Guide Jacket is a stretchy, breathable waterproof wonder that's great for backcountry touring, winter backpacking, and resort skiing. And, luckily for you, the durable HyVent fabric provides protection from the elements without pillaging your bank account. Stretch nylon material in key areas of the jacket, such as the arms, lets you move in comfort. Use the Varius Guide Jacket's pitzips to dump heat on spring days, and pull up the removable hood for extra protection during winter storms. The North Face Varius shell's elastic wind skirt helps block the elements.

Bottom Line: Zip into The North Face Varius Guide Jacket and enjoy the benefits of a technical shell without cleaning out the bank.

Northface Varius Guide Jacket   09-11-04

I love this jacket! I wore it in a monsoon-like rain storm the other day and remained completely dry. I got to work and people were mad that my hair was not drowned and messy as theirs was! The rain just rolled right off the jacket, so when I took it off everything around me stayed dry. I definitely recommend this jacket for wet weather safety...

Looks Nice, Not Warm   02-09-05

This is a very nice looking jacket, the colors are great and it has a flattering fit. This jacket runs a bit smaller than the rest of my North Face gear. However, don't buy this if you're looking for a winter coat. It's more of a rain coat or maybe a spring or fall jacket. There is almost no insulation. I have a North Face zip-up fleece that's warmer.

What can't this jacket do?   11-22-05

I recently bought the women's Varius Guide jacket and even after a week it is amazing! It works in heavy rain and snow. With snow, I suggest zipping in a fleece, or it may be too cold. It has a snow shield which isn't mentioned in the list of features but is one of the main reasons I bought it. Overall, this is a great jacket with all the features I look for:)
