A lower-face protection panel on the removable hood blocks wind and snow. This jacket is very nice and well designed. I got the red one and I love it. It really keeps me dry, Gore-Tex is magic!!!. My only recommendation is; if you are planning to get a fleece jacket to wear as inner shell, get the inner shell one size smaller because if the two jackets are the same size the inner shell doesn’t fit very well.

As the title says, this is a great jacket. It’s very light, good for fall rainy weather also. It protects from rain but doesn't suffocate you like some of the rain-prove jackets can.

I had the same jacket for 9 years and wore it exclusively!! LOVED it. New model has a detachable hood instead of stowaway. Bad move...you cannot cinch the neck so, all heat escapes(40% of body heat). Pit zips moved to front area= loss of valuable storage pockets. Front pockets lined with velcro =shreds silk liner on gloves! Waist cinch placed in front pockets bad move=every time you reach to get items from pockets you pull on/out cinch cords, all while shredding your gloves on velcro. This was a fabulous jacket, very well constructed..now a nightmare to wear and a mere shell of the jacket it once was.Help!!!
