As tough as they are roomy, the waterproof breathable The North Face Monte Cargo Pant gives hard-charging freeriders style and performance in equal measure. With two cargo pockets, these baggy-fit pants have plenty of room for storing essentials. A StretchVent gaiter with gripper elastic keeps the snow out, but also draws fresh air into the pant. The air then flows out the inner thigh vents, ensuring you never overheat. On really deep powder days (and we wish you many) snap the Monte Cargo Pant into the Pant-a-lock tabs on your North Face jacket for seamless storm protection. The North Face gave these cargo pants a heavy version of their waterproof breathable HyVent material, so you'll have the Monte Cargo's for many seasons to come.

Another reviewer wrote about how yellow these pants were. Well for me, they are not yellow enough. I think the picture is pretty accurate. They are definitely yellow, not fluoro, and not khaki. Apart from the color - they are functional. They keep my legs warm when I want, and cool down when I unzip the sides when hiking.

I just got into skiing and realized very quickly that wearing rain pants would not cut it. I've worn these pants out on 6 or 7 ski expeditions and a couple snow shoe outings. Overall I'm very satisfied I picked these guys up and love them. They're very good in keeping out wind and melted snow or rain. I have always worn a base layer with them even though they do have a liner which offers some insulation. I've managed to get a small cut around on the bottom of one of the pants..don't know how that happened, and I'm not too excited about the liner which is a sky aqua blue. Maybe things are different in the wide world of snow sports, but to me, it just seems a bit like a chick color. Not really a big deal and certainly doesn't take away from these pants which have performed very well for me as I've learned the rigors of skiing.

I bought these for the snows, and they were perfect. All I wore underneath were a pair of mid-weight ploy-pro and I was plenty comfortable. Seems to be waterproof enough so no complaints there either. I'm about 5'11" and 175lbs with a 34" waist. The Medium size was perfect. It even has two straps along the side of the waist for snug adjustment.
