Description of SmartWool Midweight Top - Women's: |
 |
Wear the Smartwool Women's Microweight Crew as a base winter layer in moderate weather, or wear it alone for warm weather workouts. Superfine Merino Wool wicks moisture and fights body odor. Flat-lock seams and jersey knit fabric give this long-sleeve top a smooth, comfortable feel, and a feminine cut keeps you looking good whether you're skiing, working out, or taking it easy.
Bottom Line: Treat your skin to the soft feel and performance-friendly features of Smartwool's Microweight Crew.

| Wool is wonderful. Runs small. 11-03-08 |

| Smartwool and another company called Icebreaker have gotten me hooked on merino wool clothing. I'm so enamored with SmartWool's socks and shirts that I own several of the same shirts in different colors (and I have about 10 pairs of their socks).
These shirts are soft and cozy, not itchy, have a flattering cut and keep me warm, but if I do start to overheat, they don't produce that clammy feeling some of the synthetic fabrics do.
On cool fall days, I'll wear just one shirt, and on colder days I'll layer a lightweight shirt (size medium) under the midweight shirt (size large).
One thing to keep in mind when ordering is that they run small (and at the time of this writing, Backcountry has the sizing chart for the Men's shirts linked to this page, not the Women's so the sizing chart is inaccurate).
I have about a 36' - 37' chest and the medium is almost too small, but I guess these are base layers so they are meant to be form fitting. I bought a couple of the lightweight shirts in a size medium and a couple of the midweight shirts in size large so I could layer them w/o everything being too tight. |

| Can be worn anywhere, even in the OR! 02-02-09 |

| I love my SmartWool! It has been very cold up here in Michigan this winter, and I rarely go out without having it on. In addition to that .... I am an OR nurse, and our surgery rooms can be very cold. I started wearing my SmartWool under my scrubs, and stay comfortable all day. It is light weight and warm, what more could you ask? I have recommended it to all my co-workers. |

| I'm so happy to have found Smartwool's baselayers this winter. I've been a fan of their socks for a while now. The midweight shirts are perfect layered under a fleece and a shell for most of my outdoor activities. They're soft, warm and flattering with a feminine fit. You might want to size up, though - they seem to run a little on the small side. I'm usually a medium, but always buy large in this brand. |
