I just wore these socks for the Vermont 50, a trail race in Brownsville, VT, and had no problems at all. I liked the cushy parts around the toes and under the ball of my foot. No itching or rash even though I'm sensitive to wool (some Smartwool products among others give me a rash). Soft and comfortable the first time I wore them. These are my 2nd or 3rd pair-- I was convinced after my first purchase that these were good socks for running on and off trails.
I love SmartWool! These socks are very comfortable. Out hiking in 90-degree-plus weather they keep my feet cool and dry. They stay put, too, which is unusual for me when it comes to socks. Normally I have to adjust my socks a couple of times an hour but these handle half-day hikes without sliding down the back of my foot.

Best ever. My last round of smartwool socks (purchased 5? years ago) finally started to develop thin spots...they never really fall apart I guess... so I bought a new supply all colors and styles. I've got happy feet.
