Bust out the Swix Economy Wax Iron, clear out that backroom, set up a light and a stereo, and give those boards some love. With its adjustable temperature dial, simple heating plate, and ergonomic grip, this iron helps you unlock your skis' true potential. A temperature-indicator light keeps you from burning your bases, and the flat-top design keeps you from setting the hot iron down on your workbench, leg, or car hood. This affordable little rig sets you up for a season of perfectly-tuned planks—and it won't leave you out of cash and eating Ramen for the rest of the season.
Bottom Line: DIY waxing—never let a stranger touch your parts.
The iron is great--simple, easy to use, and as the other reviewers have said, it's got a much better base to wax with than some iron from DI. That being said, it's identical to the iron that a friend of mine got--except his was branded DaKine and was green instead of red. Don't know if it makes any difference, as you can't beat backcountryoutlet.com's pricing or return policy, but i just thought it was interesting.
Simple yet perfect for waxing your board. I use this baby all the time and saves me tons of dough, and plus who better to care for your stuff then yourself. You won't regret this purchase awesome iron!
For the price that backcountryoutlet has for this thing, you can't wrong. My buddy and I got one and I love it. It has a temperature dial to take the guesswork out of how hot your iron is.
The temperature dial shows 100, 120, and 140 degrees C. So you can pretty much know how hot the iron is.
It also has a light to let you know when your desired temperature is reached.
Lastly it has a decently thick base to iron with and keeps its temperature well. It takes forever to cool off. This is good though because I know it can stay at my desired temp. range longer and doesn't take much to heat it back up as I'm using it.
It's a good buy if you're looking to be easy on your wallet! Swix is a great brand, you can't go wrong.
