I've been skateboarding for around 13 years and this is one of the best shoes I've ever skated. I actually had 3 pairs of these. The break in period is short, lace protection work well and it definitely holds up to abuse. It also has decent protection for the bottom of your feet so you're not as likely to get heel bruises etc.
