Sizing is true and while it has all the right pads the placements are not great. Particularly the side thigh pad. At least not for me (5'-7", medium and 155lbs). It sits slightly behind the bone where it won't offer much protection should one fall. It would protect the side of your butt and that's about it. Not sure what to do with it yet....return it or try it out.

went over a drop, then over the handlebars and then straight into an aspen tree. the pads in these literally saved my ass. they are not cumbersome or too heavy. i will wear them regularly now...
