Description of Sessions Recon Herringbone Jacket - Men's:
The heavy fleece lining inside the Sessions Recon Herringbone Jacket warms you like an attacking grizzly grabbing you in a bear hug, and waterproof fabric blocks bear slobber and melted snow moisture alike. A loose fit gives you room to layer (as well as a little park style), and removable fur in the hood keeps raccoons from trying to mate with your face. Sessions included a RECCO reflector for a dash of inbounds safety. Zip pits dump excess heat and a zip-out pow skirt blocks white smoke from blowing up your chimney.
Here are some features not listed in the description. I haven't gone on my trip yet so haven't used it on the slopes.
This jacket has a lot of cool features:
~ Wrist-gaitors to keep the snow out of your sleeves. The left one has a clear plastic window on top so you can still see your watch. Nice that they thought of that.
~ A chest pocket hidden on the underside of the storm flap. Inside the pocket is a cloth to wipe your goggles (or nose).
~ A clear plastic window on the underside of the storm flap. Maybe for a lift ticket pass? Or a picture of your girl. :o)
~ The zipper-pull is also a whistle; in case of emergency
~ An inside pocket on the right-hand side specifically designed for your tunes. It's a clear window with a slot at the bottom for the cord.
Other things you may want to know:
~ The 'heavy fleece lining' is only on the back of the jackets inside. The rest of the lining is a mesh netting.
~ The buttons you see on the front and pockets are faux (they don't button).
The top button and bottom button are snaps. The buttons on the pockets and up the center and just sewn on for looks. The storm flap and pockets velcro down. The two front pockets do have zippers however under the flap.
Great jacket!!!
If I were rating this on the price I paid versus the original price, it would get a five out of five. I scored this jacket for $90. I do have some issues though. The hood is small for the size of the jacket. The fur is connected to the hood by buttons, not a zipper, which creates gaps between the fur and the hood seen out of my peripheral vision. The middle of the jacket (vertical) slims inwards created a sort of )( <
-----shape in appearance. I've been told the buttons are on the wrong side, making it look like a ladies jacket. All in all an ok jacket. Hopefully I can wear it out in one year and go back to my beloved Oakley brand.
Bought this jacket and absolutely love it! Its very warm which is what I need, it gets the job done on the mountain. I would recommend this jacket to anyone
