Description of Special Blend True Insulated Jacket - Women's: |
 |
The Special Blend Women's True Snowboard Jacket offers all the features you need to stay warm and dry during winter's worst, in a fashionable little bomber-inspired package. Quilted construction, printed lining, and rib-knit cuffs and hem give you urban style for off-mountain haps. Special Blend armed this coat with 10K-rated waterproofing and taped seams to keep the snow from sneaking in. Flex gussets and articulated elbows keep you feeling unrestricted and free to spin, jump, and grab. Light synthetic insulation staves off January chills, while underarm zips let you unload excess heat on warmer days. For defense against upward blasts of snow, the True Snowboard Jacket features a powder skirt that snaps to Special Blend pants.
Bottom Line: No posers here.

| Cute but not functional 02-18-09 |

| This is one of the cutest jackets I have ever seen. I love the wrist gators and buttons down the hood. The jacket is extremely short and when you go to strap in your bindings leaves half of your back exposed. The powder skirt buttons at about your belly button doing no good. The jacket isn't warm either. I was told this would keep me warm when it is 10 degrees out and it doesn't even come close when it is 25 degrees out. Very cute though! Too bad I'm big into snoaboarding. |

| Love this Jacket. Very cute and the small fits perfectly (I'm 5'3, 55kg). Not too restrictive or bulky.
rub_r_duk890755: I'm not sure what the South Dakota snow is like, but in the grand scheme of things, Aussie snow is very mild i.e. insulation is not that much of an issue - this Jackeet kept me warm & dry the whole day.
As for the powder skirt, if you leave it snapped to the jacket, and not itself, it doesn't tend to ride up as much. |

| I give this jacket 4-stars only because of the cuteness factor. However, Gnu259 is right about the powder skirt being too high - more annoying than functional. The length for me (I'm 5'5) was perfect - not too short where snow rides up my back when I fall, and not too long where I look like I'm wearing boxy pajamas. Love the buttons on the sides and on the hood, although I'm worried that they will eventually fall off after a few times of wear/wash! If you know how to sew or reinforce buttons, I would highly suggest you do that after you get the jacket! I've only worn the jacket once so far in Big Bear @ 55-degree weather, so I'm not sure how well insulated this thing actually is... however, I can always layer with thermals and fleeces! |
