I am 5'7" 175lbs. I ordered a large and the shirt was super tight. I would recommend getting at least one size larger than normal, unless you have the body and are proud to show off every curve.
The purpose of this shirt is to wick away your perspiration. That's why it's tight--I purchased a similar shirt of another brand and it, too, fit like Spandex. If like many of us, you haven't got a torso you feel comfortable showing off in public, wear a sweater. Tight fit equals good wicking.
