Description of Sombrio Drift Bike Short - Women's:
Don’t worry—the DH stands for downhill, not dry hump. That being said, the semi-baggy, 4-way stretch Sombrio Women’s Drift DH Short won’t rub you the wrong way. Clip your resort pass on Drift’s lift pass recoiler, load your DH monster on the lift, and get ready for an epic day. Sombrio’s women’s-specific EPIK fit offers room for movement without drowning you out, and the extra length in the legs provides protection against brush, low trees, and grabby sage brush. The Drift short’s DWR treatment fends off mid-ride showers and ensures dry legs despite wet trails. Mesh-lined thigh vents and a ultra-wik mesh liner keep thing cool on the downhill, and the stealth magnetic stash pocket stores your mid-mountain medicine.
I am a true medium and these fit great in medium. I have other sombrio shorts the penny lane and lotus and they do not fit as well. They ride pretty good cross country too. The length hits right at my knee I am 5' 3" and the rise of the short is perfect too.
I love the fit and feel of Sombrio shorts. I'm 5'4" 130 and the small fits perfect. It sits just below the belly button which is great for me cause I don't want to traumatize folks behind me with the omnipresent crack. It drops down to the top of my knees. I've crashed with these shorts and it hasn't left a mark. The tiny pockets are a little better than last year's because it no longer has the magnets. I can just fit some money, chapstick and a key in two pocket. The lift pass thing is cool, but at places like Northstar, they want you place the pass on the handlebar.
Overall, I love these shorts because of the fit, look and resiliency. I wish it had more functional pockets, but it's a DH short. I can't carry any gel blocks or other snacks in it, but that's what the pack is for. I also got this with the 50% off coupon, so, it was a great deal.
