I have always purchased cycling shoes over the internet so getting the correct fit was an issue. I would try the shoes on in a LBS (local bike shop), then purchase on the internet to take advantage of the sales and no tax. Even so, the shoes never fit my foot quite right.
I purchased the Shimano R220 through Backcountry saving $60 versus my LBS. Paid $20 @ my LBS to get them fit properly (Shimano approved). Best fitting shoes I have owned. I put on 1,500+ miles here at the end of the year with no complaints.
