Throw on the 686 Times Levi’s 3-Ply Trucker Jacket, slam your macrobrew and catch the next chair. 686 got together with Levi's Jeans and made this sick Trucker Jacket. Madewith Westtech-20 fabric, this über-burly denim shell keeps you dry when shredding the hill or gutting your last kill thanks to 20K waterproofing and fully-taped seams. The 3-ply Trucker Jacket breathes when the heat is on and blocks out the wind when the cold is calling. The attached hood prevents wind from whipping your mullet into a frizz and two chest pockets keep your tobacy from getting wet while you shred the mountain or bong a beer.
Got the Burton Ltd Grail denim jacket from last season which totally works. This 686 is a variation on the same theme but the execution is completely different. The devil is in the (Levi's) detail. Nice touches like the authentic buttons are actually fastened with velcro or zip and not by itself, which would be difficult to, er, button in the cold with frozen fingers. Initially it seems a boxier cut but I believe the stiff denim, unlike in the Ltd Grail that is softer from the sandblasting finish, will soften over time to give a less boxy look meaning it will look better in time with use as would any denim garment. Note the 686 cut is slightly baggier than the Burton equivalent. Two denim jackets but two different looks on and off the mountain. A must buy especially if you have or haven't the Ltd Grail already... P.S. It's great to walk into a (UK) Levi's store with the 686 and have the staff ask "I know it says Levi's but where did you get that?!"
