Description of Sierra Designs Antares 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season: |
The Sierra Designs Antares 3-Person 3-Season Tent with Accessories has steep walls for increased living space. Double vestibules provide plenty of room to keep backpacks out of the rain. The Antares is made with the same materials, design, and quality construction as Sierra Designs' award-winning Reverse Combi tent. DAC Featherlite poles provide plenty of strength to stand up to nasty fall storms and with an included footprint, attic and even a coffee cling, the Antares has every option you could ever want in a group tent. Swift Clip pole connections make it easy to set up in minutes. Now call your hiking partners and hit the trail.
Bottom Line: The Antares is your three-bedroom apartment for the backcountry.

| This is great design 03-05-09 |

| After using a Sierra Design Stretch Dome 4 season for the last 25 years the fly delaminated and they didn't have one to fit a tent that old. With the great design and quality of the Sierra Design tents, I was not even looking at another brand. The Antares 3 gave me close to the size and headroom I had enjoyed with the Stretch Dome and its 2 lbs lighter. The double doors and double vestibule on the Antares make entry and exit a breeze..so I'm not climbing over anyone else to get out.It has lots of pockets and a suspended "attic" at the top for holding stuff. This tent is still a little heavier than a 2 person tent but I will trade the slight weight penalty for the extra room. The SD clip system attachment makes the fly extremely taut and well fitting..Its a very easy setup...and this my sound weird but I've always liked the blue color of SD..easy to see in the snow...Hope to enjoy this tent for years to come.If you can catch this one on sale it is an unbelievable value. |

| Comfortable, Sturdy and Dry. What Could be Better? 11-03-08 |
OPA! (2): |
| My wife and I use this tent for weekend backpacking trips. I carry it, which is why she likes it. I like it because it is roomy for two people without being overly heavy. (If you're planning on sleeping three people in it, make sure you're all real good friends.) At 7 pounds it violates the 3 pounds per person guideline. I maintain it's worth it because you get two doors and two large vestibules. Two doors are super when you have to get up in the middle of the night and you can do it without crawling over someone. Two vestibules are really great for tucking boots and stuff out of the weather. The tent has a lot of mesh which keeps condensation from building up. And, it comes with an attic for storing breakable things like glasses. My only complaint is that the tent doesn't come with a cool name like Hubba Hubba. |

| Great tent for a Big Boy 06-30-09 |

| Sierra Designs tents are all around great tents. I have a 10yr old Clip Flashlight and it works for those light weight times. At 6'3" I pretty much fill it up. I've found most two person tents aren't much bigger. I bought the Antares for backpacking. I can support the 1.5lbs extra pack weight (7.5lbs) for the added room. I Just finished a 7 day trek in the San Jauns of SW Colorado. It handled a ferocious rain event like a champ. It Supported 5 others for a rainy afternoon card game. It would be tight for three of my size, but works fine for two with lots of room. Thumbs up from me! |
