Sierra Designs' Hurricane LT Pant features a lightweight, waterproof breathable design to keep you dry in the drippiest of conditions. Two-layer waterproof breathable Hurricane nylon fabric and fully taped seams keep the rain from getting in, while sweaty moisture vapors escape so your legs don't smother. These lightweight rain pants pack down small for travel, and 14-inch ankle zippers make it easy to slip on the pants while wearing your shoes. The Hurricane LT Pant is ideal for backup coverage during fair weather backpacking, or for less sweaty activities such as rainy-day urban assaults.

Pros: lightweight, pack small, cheap, waterproof. Cons: no venting system, ankle openings make it tough to put them on over top of shoes. (To be fair, I have size 13 feet - might be easier in a size 9 shoe) It'd be better if they packed into a pocket instead of the bag they come in. I've already lost the bag and wouldn't want to carry the extra weight anyway.

These worked great for my trip to Alaska. I stayed dry during kayaking (even while sitting in a puddle of water), and also while hiking in the mist/rain. There's no venting so breathability isn't wonderful, but overall a great buy to stay dry.

I am a little thick in the legs and trunk, and these pants are sized a little too thin for me to wear. I have to wear them without any layer underneath. That being said, they are excellent as far as repelling water, and have done very well when I have worn them.
