Description of Sierra Designs Down Bootie - Men's:
Soft, breathable, compressible Sierra Designs down booties keep feet warm and comfortable around the house or in your tent. Picture this: You and the crew reach a reasonable snow camp after climbing up to about 10,000 feet. Before pitching a tent, the rest of the bozos pull their dogs out of their steaming tele boots only to put them in the 8-pound Sorels they've been carrying around all day. But not you. You bust out your feather light down booties that have compressed down to the size of a single paperback book. Like sleeping bags for your feet, they're the perfect snow camp bootie--warm, compressible, and durable.
Bottom Line: Sierra Designs Down Booties are great for kickin' around camp or taking a cold morning stroll to the mailbox! If you're in doubt on sizing, go big as they tend to run small.
Incredibly warm. I wear them around the house on cold days on the wood floors, and to grab the mail or take out the trash. Excellent for stuffing in your pack for winter treks and walking around frozen ground. They are very very warm I cant wear them long in normal temps, but perfect for cold days. Camping accessory you will love if it is a winter night. You can even sleep in them to stay toasty. A solid buy and not that expensive!
Just got these off of SAC and wore them backcountry skiing / camping last weekend - they were so nice. It didn't get much below 30, but I walked or stood around in the snow for hours and they never got cold or wet. They stick magically to the snow. I also post-holed a couple of times and didn't get any snow in the bootie. I could walk up little hills, but they don't have any support and they need a stiffer heel like some of the other SD booties. I then wore them in my sleeping bag and they were a great addition.
We run out of heat in Italy A LOT- These booties are the best thing I have found to keep my feet warm - and when my feet are warm the rest of me feels better. If I am at home these boots are on my feet.
