Description of Scarpa Thunder Climbing Shoe - Women's:
Scarpa designed the Women's Thunder Lady Climbing Shoe for dawn-to-dusk comfort, so you can still walk the day after you tick off 20 pitches at your local crag. A synthetic lining keeps stretch to a minimum and eliminates painful break-in time. Scarpa perforated the Thunder Lady Climbing Shoe's upper to help your foot stay cool on hot summer days. Of course, these versatile, all-around shoes also come with sticky Vibram XSGrip soles to keep you glued to tiny edges and insecure smears.
Bottom Line: Climb all day while your feet stay comfortable in the Scarpa Thunder Lady Climbing Shoes.
I wear a size 7 street shoe, and a size 36.5 in La Sportiva Nago's. I ordered these in 36.5 and my toes were really scrunched up in the front. I am returning and reordering in a size 37.5 to see if the fit is better. Otherwise, the shoe is very nice, a tiny bit more aggressive than my Nago's, with a solid heel.
I'm a new rock climber but have one foot that's very sensitive and needs to not be too smashed in shoes. Buying a shoe 1-2 sizes small and letting it stretch would kill my feet. I went to my local REI and tried on every single rock shoe there, and the Thunder just fit like a glove with comfort far above and beyond all others but still offering a good snug fit. I tested the top 5 or so out on the wall briefly, and the Thunder was all around the best pick. With a slightly lower price, all day comfort, and minimal stretch, it's a winner!

i've had these for about a year, and they are extremely comfortable. whether i climb in a gym or out on the rock they do the job very well. i made sure to buy them tight since i know climbing shoes stretch, and after about 5 wears they molded very nicely to my foot.
