Scott designed the Men’s Avenger Gore-Tex Softshell Jacket as a technical, no-compromise top for long, active days in the mountains. This jacket’s Gore-Tex Shoftshell fabric provides the legendary weather protection of Gore shells with increased freedom of movement in a softer, warmer feeling material. Scott gave this coat all the techy-requisite features like later-cut pockets, an anti-chafe chin guard, armpit venting, a powder skirt, and seamless shoulders that feel good when you’re carrying a pack.
Bottom Line: Softshells doesn’t get much more teched-out than the Scott Avenger Jacket.
Goretex softshell is incredible. Bonding it with the long fleece that Scott put is this jacket is genius. However it is missing a few commonplace extras. There is no gripper tape or pant attachments on the powderskirt, no internal pockets, and no where to put a pass or lift ticket. Oh and the zipper pull could be a bit beefier. Yet the construction of this jacket is so on point, that I can overlook those flaws.

huge, hardcore, and cute at the same time 08-21-09
seems like a heavy duty jacket--the exception being the fuzzy fleece-like interior that was a little too "cute". also, the jacket was HUGE. size down on this
what more can i say....a waterproof softshell should be in everyones quiver. This jacket is great becuase not only is it waterproof but its warm as well.
