Description of Salomon Scarlet Ski Boot - Women's: |
 |
Salomon's highest end women's freeride/freestyle boot, the Scarlet Ski Boot, offers ripping females the support to charge everything with unrelenting aggressiveness. Double dismantle canting allows you or a boot fitter to match the Scarlet to your lower leg shape for increased comfort and power. The heat moldable liner and four micro-adjustable buckles allow you to dial in the fit even further. A stiff flex and extended levers allow you to crank the shell down for serious support. Planning on some high-impact situations during the day? The Scarlet's heel cushioning system absorbs and disperses the force of stomping your landings.
Bottom Line: Send it in the Scarlet.

| Scarlet Scores!! 10-17-08 |
Kim Havell (54): |
| This is the best ski boot I have ever used. The Scarlet is high performance, and is stiff enough for extremely aggressive skiers but also light enough that you barely can tell it's there. Finally a woman's product that does not sacrifice strength for fit. The boot is extremely comfortable and hugs the calf perfectly, and is also very precision oriented. I use this boot in bumps, carving, powder and backcountry and it is great for long days on the hill. Coming from a racing background but loving the powder, I prefer a stiffer/stronger (performance) boot- the Scarlet gives you the performance yet feels like a more cozy, casual ski boot- the best of both worlds. It takes a short time to break-in as opposed to many other boots that take a good week to fit to your form & foot. Recommend this for intermediate to expert women. |

| This is the boot for Narrow feet 03-16-09 |
AgentBristow (5): |
| When I first tried these on, I immediately noticed that they fit great. After a few minutes, my feet went numb, but I didn't care (which is a bad thing), they just fit so great. I work at a ski shop, and when people try on boots and their feet go numb, I tell them that it is the wrong boot. I have last year's model, which is probably only cosmetically different than this years.
I am an aggressive advanced skier and I LOVE this boot. I have narrow feet, and I couldn't find any boot narrow enough for me. It took a while for me to break them in (about 20 days of skiing, mostly half days because I had school in the morning). Before breaking them in, I had to unbuckle them on the lift, or my feet would go numb but they always skied great. Recently, I had been having some pain on the bottom of my foot, with occasional numbess. I put in some Aline footbeds (about $60), and the pain was gone. I now don't have to unbuckle them at all. If I had gotten the Aline foodbeds when i got the boot, I might have not experienced numbness. at all. I wear a Smartwool Ultralight PhD ski sock with them. I highly recommend Aline footbeds. I basic superfeet trim to fit footbeds in them before, but they didn't do much compared to the Aline. |

| I have a really high arch too and ski with the Scarlets. I love the support from the boot and the custom orthodics and liner help with any mid day discomfort. Grip it an' rip it bitches. |
