Salomon designed the Threat Ski for young, up and coming park and pipe skiers who shred all over the mountain. This twintip’s versatile dimensions make it an ideal choice for groms who want the freestyle performance of a dedicated jib ski without sacrificing all mountain chops. Salomon’s Edgy Monocoque construction maximizes power transfer efficiency and provides precise edge grip for a solid responsive feel, no matter where you ski.
Bottom Line: Young rippers can challenge the status quo on the Salomon Threat Ski.
I got these skis off this site at the beginning of the season, put a brand new pair of marker griffons on them and I skied unlike I had ever done before, hucking 15 foot cliff-gaps, stomping 270's on to rails, and landing my cleanest 540 ever. I'm 5'7 and 150 pounds and coming onto these things from 151cm salomon 720's was a dream come true. For 4 days I thought that there was no better ski for me. However on the fourth day I was riding up the lift near the end of the day and noticed something poking out of my left ski. I checked it out at the top, and saw that edge had been RIPPED out of about 4" of the ski at the tip! I noticed that there was a seam in the edge there before where the two ends of the edge met, but somehow the edge there had been ripped out? I don't exactly nose butter boxes or anything so I don't see how it could have logically happened. I was pissed to say the least. Though i called up backcountry's customer service and they sent me a new pair pronto saying it was a defect.
Overall from what I have seen if you are going hard and are choosing between these and the suspects GET THE SUSPECTS, they're way more durable, but these give you a good amount of bang for the buck if you are careful with your skis. Thank you backcountry for awesome customer service and thanks salomon for the awesome performing ski with bad edge seam placement, maybe on the tail next time?
hello, everyone!
i'm from russia, moscow, and and i've bought these skis in the end of the december.
after couple of skiing days i've noticed the same problem as was- EDGES RIPPED OUT ON THE TOP OF BOTH SKIS!!
thanks to local customer service the skis were replaced by a pair of new salomon theat.
but the very next day after skiing THE PROBLEM WITH EDGES WAS ALL OVER AGAIN!
i'm not sure my customer service will be able to help me again, but i'm totally pissed off anyway.
though i'm not an aggressive skier and i chose these skis to learn some tricks... unfortunately my learning is temporary stopped due to these 'technical' problems.
i don't have anything against salomon, but these skis DEFINITELY SUCK!
