Description of Salomon Snowtrip II 3-in-1 Jacket - Women's:
The Salomon Women’s Snowtrip II 3-in-1 Jacket excels in the backcountry or in the resort. Versatile, breathable, and waterproof climaPRO SOFTSHELL fabric and permeable underarm air panels keep you from overheating. Zip out the actiTHERM insulated inner jacket and use the shell for ultimate minimalism, or zip in the inner jacket when the mercury drops. Salomon added a removable hood for added customization, and a left arm pass pocket for convenience.
Bottom Line: The Salomon Snowtrip II 3-in-1 Jacket loves to move.
This is my second Salomon snowtrip jacket. I bought this second one for a different color and variety. It's a great deal. I originally wanted the North Face Citation softshell jacket for $500 and this had everything that jacket had plus more and better fitting. It's contoured fit, but not tight. You could still layer underneath if you want, but in 20 degree weather, I wear the jacket with the liner, a tank top and a turtleneck and I am very comfortable without so much bulk. I will probably get another color in a couple years.

Really, really want to like this jacket but... 11-18-09
Got this jacket in the blue lagoon color (no longer available on here) for an unbeatable price on SAC. The color actually brings up my first complaint and that's that I was expecting much more of a blue color - or at least a little darker - and, instead, the jacket is more of a seafoam green.
I decided I could deal with the much girlier color of the jacket because the fit in the waist and hips is great. The jacket (shell + liner) also kept me nice and toasty while laying on the hood of my car for two hours watching the Leonid Meteor Shower the other night. All I had under it was a long sleeve, midweight merino shirt.
Actually, that's about all I could have comfortably worn under it. The arms at the elbows are pretty tight. In addition to the tight elbows, which I think is caused by the extra bulk the seam there causes, the arms are a bit too short. When I put my arms up in front of me, the sleeves pull up past my wrists and the jacket is super tight across my back.I'm 5'6", 150 lbs (most of that is in my legs from cycling) and I bought the large...and am sorry to say that I will be returning it. So sad, too, because it seems like it would be such a warm, quality jacket.
