Description of Salomon X Wave 8.0 Ski Boot - Men's:
Let the Ski Day Begin. Salomon's X Wave series revolutionized the alpine ski boot world by providing awesome performance without compromising fit and comfort. The X Wave 8.0's Sensifit technology uses a softer plastic in the shell for easy exit/entry, and a Customfit Pro Liner with a reinforced ankle and heel pocket to secure the foot and facilitate transmission of energy from edge to edge. A polar fleece lining in the forefoot provides extra warmth and an anatomically sculpted tongue reduces shin bang. Salomon traditionally fits people with mid to wider feet, and the 8.0 is no exception. It has a generous toe box and average fit through the arch with a glove-like fit around the Achilles to lock down the heel. The Salomon X Wave 8.0 will keep the advanced to expert all-mountain skier warm and comfortable during a day on the slopes. It has a medium-stiff flex that lends plenty of power to the edges when carving hard and just enough flex to stop you from getting your weight kicked back in bumps and powder.

I bought the boots, took them out of the box, and went skiing. They fit perfectly, and I was able to ski in them for five days with out any discomfort. Skied a lot of steep runs and the boot lived up to the hype. Fist Salomon boot I have ever bought and love it!!!!!

Wore these a day before I skied with them. First boot from Salomon, and one of the only boots to fit my wide foot. Very responsive for an 85 flex boot. Spaceframe 'honeycombs' look pretty badass too.

I didn't know what good boots were until I got these. I moved up after a couple years on a pair of Performa 6's and WOW...what a difference! My feet feel locked-in and the boots are responsive without feeling uncomfortable. The only drag is the out-of-place red and white coloring on the inside of the boot (probably not coincidental that all the product photos are taken directly from the side so that you never see it) that looks so wrong on these things. I can't help but be reminded of old Zubaz clothing whenver I see it. Just a cosmetic detail though...otherwise they rock!
