I live in Bethel, AK and I work outside at the airport all day. Its hard to find good gear that can keep you warm in these conditions. -45 to -56 I can say for a fact. These boots kept me warm! They are actually water proof too! The grip on the soles aren't too bad on the ice either. The comfort they provide is like wearing a tennis shoe. Thats super handy out here and I have bragged to everyone here at work about how wonderful these boots are. I highly recommend these boots! Well worth every cent! The only negative could be that they can cause your feet to sweat when its not extremely cold.

It's true that they are a bit stiff and therefore cloddy when walking, but if you're looking for warm it is a good trade-off. They are totally warm enough whether you're just walking the dogs or walking on your way to the slopes. Very happy with the purchase. Also, an added bonus is that the lining is super soft!

The Avo winter boot is very warm, so is great if your feet get cold sitting in football stands, etc. I got them for walking the dogs and they are not so great for that - VERY stiff. Probably should have sent them back
