The Rip Curl Polypro Rash Top adds ultra-quick-drying polypropylene fibers to .5mm neoprene, so you don’t shiver your ass off in the lineup. Not following the science? Walk with us for a second. Your body generates heat. Water absorbs heat. A rash guard doesn’t trap water like a wetsuit, it has to evaporate it like a regular shirt. Thus, the longer your body needs to evaporate the water out of your rash guard, the more heat you will lose. So, in short, wet = cold, while dry = warm. Polypro dries 40 times faster than polyester.
