Description of Roxy Black Magic Ski Boot - Women's:
With a not too-soft, not too-hard flex (100), the Roxy Women's Black Magic Ski Boot gives you the control to haul down groomers, as well as a precise ride in the park and pipe. The Black Magic Boot's low, flared cuff complements the shape of a woman's leg, and a wide toe box and narrow heel cup give a secure fit. A down liner keeps your feet warm on the chairlift, and heel lifters give you an aggressive stance. The Black Magic Boot's rubberized buckles won't snap at your fingers every time you buckle down, and quick-set catches make it easy to tighten- or loosen-up on the slopes.
Bottom Line: Roxy's Black Magic Ski Boot—no tricks, no incantations. Just a precise, sturdy, warm fit.
During the first few turns I made in this boot, I could feel how responsive it was. It reacts to the slightest turn initiation and really helps you hold an edge through out the turn. It was perfect for the Eastern hardpack/ice that I ski on, and is also a comfortable park boot. The narrow fit cradled my feet, although it may not be perfect for wide feet. The quilted down liners kept my feet warm even during January in Maine. The rubber-covered buckles were super easy to adjust, even with cold numb fingers!
I loved these boots at first but I've been having some problems with them. Not only is the toe area not warm at all, but these boots hurt the lower part of my feet so bad that I have to take a break every few runs and stretch my feet out. My boyfriend insists that I just haven't broken them in yet but I wore them all season with no big improvement. But on a more positive note, the ankle part of the boot is very warm, the rubbery buckles are easy and covinient, and the boots do look good.
