Description of Patagonia Footwear Jacote Waterproof Shoe - Women's:
Pull on the Patagonia Women’s Jacote Waterproof Shoe when the winter weather hits, and get four-wheel-drive-like performance with soft, warm comfort for your feet. The multi-traction, leaf-print sole features recycled rubber and grips icy sidewalks and slick trails, and Patagonia stuffed the waterproof leather upper with Primaloft insulation and lined it with furry Polartec fleece. A triple-density EVA footbed provide cushioning on long, frigid walks with the pooch, and elastic Gore-Tex gusset at the ankle keeps moisture from seeping in.
The leather on these boots is not a "shiny" finish but has a little bit of a soft brushed feel to it - might be kinda scuffable. The fit is very snug across the instep, somewhat snug in the toes and rather loose in the heel (I have fairly narrow heels). Putting these on at first is a bit of a challenge - the opening doesn't "give" much. Once on, they feel great! The footbed is slightly cushy and the sole is somewhat flexible. These boots are VERY warm, too - not subzero warm, but plenty warm enough for wearing around town. Order up a size if you want to wear thicker socks - I normally wear an 8 (between Euro 38.5 and 39.5) and these are very snug while wearing average athletic socks.
I haven't tried these on ice or snow yet, though, so I don't know how the tread will perform there.
