Instead of a steady diet of carrots, consider the Princeton Tec Switchback 3 Light to see at night. The Switchback 3 packs a focused narrow beam to light up distant forest creatures , and illuminates tire-puncturing imperfections on tight and twisty trails thanks to an engineered flood pattern. Whether slicing through the darkness on your favorite trail, or dominating competitors during late-night 24hr race laps, the Princeton Tec Switchback 3 lights up the night.
Multiple modes allow you to adjust the light’s brightness for varying conditions and to conserve battery life
Car charger included, as well as plugs for EU and USA outlets
Helmet mounting bracket and handle bar bracket included
31 inch extension cord included to mount battery in remote locations (jersey pocket, pack)
Bottom Line: Mass consumption of carrots only makes your skin orange.
I got this for my wife for both trail and street riding at night. She is always nervous about hitting something she can't see at night and it takes away her enjoyment or riding.
The light is super bright. It makes me laugh all the time, how bright it is. You can see the trail ahead of you almost like daylight. Honestly I would compare it to a car headlight.
The battery pack adds some weight to your ride, but it's totally worth it if you want to see extremely well at night.
The light is big and heavy -- too heavy for helmet mount.
The battery is about half the size of a brick and weighs about as much.
Battery life is about half that advertised.
My battery quit holding a charge after less than a year.
Yes, this light is bright. I have it mounted on my handle bars and it floods the entire trail in front of me, a 20ft radius or so. That said, for trail riding this light requires an additional light mounted on the helmet that carries a good long beam for checking out the trail way ahead. The weight hasnt been an issue for me, and the battery mounts very securely to the frame ( I have an enduro )...I have taken some diggers that left me tending my wounds but have not affect the light or battery whatsoever. What I like most though is that this light comes with a car charger, and even has a euro adapter as well, which is a plus because not only does this light outlast most other lights out there, but you can recharge it at your car, without leaving your campsite.
