Description of Pearl Izumi Lebensstil Jacket - Men's:
After your morning bike ride or run on a fickle spring day, take a shower, dress, and pull on your semi-fitted Pearl Izumi Men's Lebensstil Jacket. Zip up the Lebensstil and stroll along Boulder's Pearl Street to the coffee house. The Lebensstil features windproof, highly water-resistant fleece, so there's no need to forgo your morning ritual because of windy, wet, or cold weather.
It is form-fitting, but I like that so I can get a shell over it. The material in the sleeves is a bit slippery, as it allows you to put a baselayer shirt on; it doesn't make the sleeves ride up. The fleece thickness is a little more than what TNF would call 200 weight, that is it's a bit stiffer, but not overly so. The material is folded over at the zipper to protect your chin. Good windproofing, too. On S&C it was a great price, so much so I bought a different color when it came up again. I think Pearl Izumi has discontinued it though since it's not shown on their web site.
Got this jacket for a bargain on Steep&Cheap. I'm 6'0" 175, got a medium and it fits me just the same as a medium Patagonia or NorthFace fleece. It's really warm and has so far done a good job blocking out the cold wind on bike commutes in the low 40s. The interior "windproof" material looks and feels just like what is inside my friend's NorthFace Windwall II jacket. It has 2 sort of inside pockets -- the kind that are open at the top and have a tiny opening at the bottom so you can't put your keys or change in them, but they would work fine for gloves, beanies, goggles, etc. It also has two waist cinchers that might not be apparent in the pictures.
On the tag inside the collar, it says "Season Fall 2007."
