Description of Patagonia Long Haul Runners Short - Men's:
When a ‘quick jog’ for you means double-digit miles, pull on the Patagonia Men’s Long Haul Runners Short and hit the trail. This ultralight running short features a built-in wicking liner to keep your bit and pieces from jostling around and a rear mesh pocket to hold your small essentials. Vented side seams and a gusseted crotch let you run uninhibited, and reflective logos help you stay visible when you have to pound the pavement.
I got these not long ago and immediately fell in love! Immediately I was diggin' the Patagonia quality. They are not quite as ventilated as my Adidas Adistar shorts, but they seem much more durable for trail conditions. I use a pair of compression shorts underneath and love the support and feel. I put an iPod Nano and a key in the back pocket and they ride nicely...I also purchased the Capilene 1 top to accompany these shorts. Patagonia makes awesome trail running clothing!
I am 5'11" and 170 - 175#. I typically wear a size 33" waist and often a 32". With Patagonia products this translates to a Medium. In years past this has proven true. Not so with the 2009 Long Haul's. The Medium was tight around the waist and would have certainly caused problems as the miles ticked by. I have sized up to a large. I wish they made these with a 9 - 10" inseam (although, ordering by inseam without outseam or rise can be misleading!)for a bit more coverage. 7" is as short as I go. Otherwise these a stellar! Great material, comfortable and quick drying.
Typical Patagonia quality - lightweight, quick drying, and durable. I have used these in 2 10K trail races and will be wearing them in an upcoming marathon. Fit could be a bit looser in the legs for me, but still comfortable.
